New site look questions

It’s now hard to find the site categories and the back arrow seems to have disappeared. When I click on menu, there seems to be no associated action. I have found these changes frustrating. Am I missing something? Anyone else have these concerns?

An iPhone at this time but any Apple device is missing the back arrow, unless it is back now.

I believe swiping from the left edge of the screen towards the right does the same thing without the page clutter

Are you not familiar with swipe gestures for going backward and forward (and all sort of other functionality)? They've been standard on most smartphones for a while now (maybe 4-5 years?). If you're not, here's a quick YouTube video I found that might help:

I'm sorry to say that the back button will likely never return. Like I said in another thread it's badly coded and obstructs the light/dark theme button and because of the way the Xenforo forum software works I would have to hire a specialized (i.e. expensive) developer to try to fix it and that particular button is pretty much at the bottom of my list of things I'm willing to budget for. And ultimately it's completely unnecessary with any modern browser (even my ~5 year old Macbook supports swipe gestures on the trackpad).
