Just joined and wanted to say hi. I'm completely new to GLP1's and just placed my 1st order of Reta yesterday. I've been doing as much research as possible to prepare myself and that's what led me here to this forum.

I'm still debating on which dose to start with to avoid side effects so I'm reading as much as I can from user experiences here.

Look forward to interacting and learning from you all.

Cheers!

Well the trials started at 2mg. But personally I start my family members at 1mg because I favor the slow and steady approach.
I took .5mg the other night... nothing. Will bump to 1mg next week. I would rather go slow and steady than get sick.

Yes, I'm doing it try and avoid side effects (diarrhea) as much as possible due to having that at work would be a nightmare.

That's what I'm planning but I'll probably stick with .5 for a month, then bump to 1.0 if no sides. I'm not in a rush at all. I'm mainly just trying to avoid sides as much as possible.

Not saying this is the ideal but seems to be reasonably popular, if losing weight don't be in a rush to increase dose.
  • Weeks 1–4: 1 mg per week
  • Weeks 5–8: 2 mg per week
  • Weeks 9–12: 4 mg per week
  • Weeks 12 plus, higher doses of 8mg and highest doses of 12mg may be achieved

Hi and welcome! I'm 3 weeks into Reta and my very first experience with a GLP-1. I started on June 9th and split dose 2mg. 1mg Mondays and 1mg Fridays. I've experienced slight nausea, and constipation (due to low fiber which I resolved with a fiber supplement). Within 4 hours of my first dose all of my food noise was gone and I had zero appatite. I struggled with food intake and had to remind myself to eat.
I did notice the first 2 weeks by Friday morning the food noise was back but easily manageable until that Friday dose. This week there was no noise between dose split..

Start weight on 6/9 was 181.8 and this morning was 172.4. I've DEFINATELY noticed NSV (non scale victories) such as deminished inflammation, fat loss and increased energy.

Here's to happy researching!

Appreciate it. I'm planning to start under the usual low dose of 1 mg. I read the half-life is around 6 days, so any side effects could hang around for a bit before I can dial it back. Just trying to avoid that from the start.

Also something to keep in mind, it takes ~5 half lives for the medicine to fully leave your system. That means your active dose will increase with every injection for the first month of any nominal dose.

Nobodys getting sick from 2mg of Reta lol
Some people in the study dropped out at 2mg because of side effects. One of things I like about this forum is that most people don't try to dissuade someone else for being more cautious or averse to risk than others. Also, most don't try to spread give bad information.

Welcome to the forum!
