It’s pretty cheap in many other countries. They charge us their insane amounts in the US because they know our level of vanity, and our penchant for convenience.
I do agree with that statement somewhat, to a point. Other countries have different health-care systems and don't need the extensive testing involved. Whereas, in the states, there are so many trials that have to be done and other countries accept these meds because the testing here is well known. A lot of money go into these meds when experimenting and trialing. In the states we have our independent insurance at all different levels and other countries do not have these different levels. The other countries did not have to go through such extensive experimenting and trials also so, there is no money lost either for them. In the states these pharmaceutical companies try and recoup the money and so, charge us more here in the states where all these trials and approvals take place. These companies also are and have been for many years aware of our private insurance and how our health-care system works. For this reason, the price gouging comes into play. Our insurance has the right to pay for, partially pay for, or refuse to pay for these life changing meds altogether. Other countries do things the way they do health-care and this country does things the way we do it here. Is it fair, I don't think so. I don't feel that it's fair how "Big Pharma" operates. I don't want to get political, I don't want to insult anyone, either. I certainly don't know everything but this is just the gist of things on the surface. If anyone would like to add or correct anything that I have just said, please do so. I know that I have just scratched the surface and do not want to get political or upset anyone. If I did insult anyone, I am sorry, and did not mean to do so. This is hearsay and my opinion. I am not an angry person however, I do not like price gouging. I'm sorry my text was so long winded.
