Peptide storage

I was curious what kind of fridge or freezer do you guys store your peptides. I’m in a few Discords, and some people have those mini fridges, the table bar fridge, there actually home fridge. I know some don’t work as great or can’t keep them cooled to the desired temp. Also do you guys just leave your peptides in that plastic container they got shipped in or do you put them in a vial box or pouch.
 
Counter top fridge for what I’m currently using/reconned. It holds 40° fine.

Lyophilized goes in the deep freezer. Before my inventory got bulky I’d buy hydropeaks and inserts, now I’m going to store kits in their delivered plastic cases in a container, in a cooler, in the freezer.

i put anything thats not currently constituted in the freezer.

to be honest though, unless if you are planning to store peptides for over a year you probably are just as good keeping them in a fridge

I’m honestly not running a long stack probably going to start with 2-3 peptides the most. Will
Store everything in the fridge unless I buy bulk.

heres the reality. peptides always lose potency they are always degrading over time, cold slows it but doesnt stop in... lypholized (dry) peptides degrade slower than reconstituted (dissolved in water) peptides.

in 3 months time are you really going to notice the 0.1%-1% loss in quality of a peptide because you stored it at 5c instead of -5c?

No, probably not.

This reminds me of Peter Magic's story about forgetting the peptides he stored in his garage at room temperature for a decade. He tested them and they had barely lost any potency after ten years. It sounds like his forgotten collection was mostly HGH, but I'd think other peptides would behave similarly.

No, probably not.


Another take on reality... unless freezer space is at a premium, it it worth the brain power to forecast and decide the storage time of a given peptide or is it easier to put everything not reconstituted in the freezer and pull what's needed, when needed?

Is there a downside to the freezer? No, probably not.

I have a lab freezer that is very well temp controlled it only fluctuates ~2 degrees and has like a million sensors that tell and beep and scream at me if it goes “out of range” it’s completely overkill but I got it for like 80 bucks and I think it’s cool.

I’m just now getting to where I need to start thinking about storage. Right now, I’ve just been popping them in our chest freezer.

I’ve got one kit that’s pending third party testing so it’s in my cupboard until the results come back. then I’ll label and put in the freezer.

80 bucks?! Such an awesome deal for the peace of mind. I might go for the lab freezer if I start buying additional peptides.

No, probably not.
How about peptides stored in freezer looong term, say 2-5 years?
 
I'm buying one those cases to keep my vials in and will keep them in the freezer. The temp on mine doesn't fluctuate and stays hella cold. Will be looking into a lab freezer in the future as my collection grows lol.

How long do you microwave the peptide leftovers for?

peptides always lose potency over time. lower temperatures reduce degredation. the only temperature that pauses chemical degredation is absolute zero.

from a practical standpoint, if you use your peptides within a year, refridgeration is OK and nobody is going to notice the 1-2% potency drop for storing a peptide at 5c for a year.

the larger the molecule the more preference you should give towards freezing... gh, and its derivatives come to mind, like CJC, IPA, etc...

GLP1's are large and complex but are actually stabilized because they arent a pure peptide, most have a large fatty acid chain attached to them which actually make them more stable

Are you using a desiccant?

Not in the hydropeaks.

I'm in an "expansion phase" and may move to stainless steel trays with plastic lids that are vacuum sealed for practicality. If they're vacuum sealed, I don't think I'll run desiccant either.

I have several pounds of desiccant... I may make a high temp holder and run some in the cooler everything is going to be stored in, in the freezer.

Overall I'm not super concerned about humidity. The vials should be under a vacuum, and if the vacuum fails, the vial is probably trash anyways.
