Hi! Has anyone had any luck with managing lupus symptoms — mostly fatigue, rashes, joint pain — with peptides?

I’m currently prescribed hydroxychloroquine by my rheum but it makes me have insane histamine reactions since it lowers my immune response. I ordered ss31/mots c to try and jump start my body out of fatigue but the ss31 worked for 2 days then kicked my ass and I couldn’t get out of bed the next day. Haven’t tried the mots c yet. I also got thymosin alpha 1 and I think it’s working, but not quite sure how long I can take this for, as protocols are kinda all over the place. I’m currently taking GLOW and the BPC157 might be helping with the joint pain.

Any thoughts or experiences would be so appreciated. Thanks!!

I got excited about this post as it describes what my wife needs perfectly. I don't have any answers yet but if you have any success please do update here!

I have Autoimmune diseases as well (Sjogrens and RA). I took Plaquenil for a number of years. It really did help but I didn't have the same side effect as you.

I have been using Reta exclusively for a year (since June 2024) for weight loss of course but also to see if might have any effect on inflammation reduction. By April 2025 my CRP (inflammation) had dropped to normal (first time in 8 years) and my Sed Rate was close to normal (after peaking at a high). I've heard Tirz is also good for inflammation but I have no experience with it.

Thymosin Alpha 1 is a good choice as an immune modulator but it isn't instantaneous. The dosing protocol is all over the place (because it was primarily studied for hepatitis). Start with a low dose daily (I've seen .5mg) or twice weekly (1.6mg every 3 days), because the side effects can be uncertain.

I've enquired elsewhere about how to dose TA-1 and I got about the same dosage levels. Only one person suggested dosing at .8mg/week, so that is the protocol I adopted. It really is just a crap shoot.

I started TA-1 a few weeks ago at 1 mg/day (for allergy relief) but had to stop after 4 days because of side effects. The next week I pinned 1 mg for 2 days and had even worse side effects but even better control of my allergies. The next week I pinned 1.5mg as a weekly dose and the side effects were truly horrible, but my allergy relief was again better. (Note: My side effects are due to Chromic Lyme - it appears the bugs don't like TA-1 - so it was creating some severe herx reactions). So I pinned .8mg this week and I'm doing much better at this dose - smaller herx and again noticeable allergy relief, though not as pronounced.

A real bonus is that TA-1 is helping to clean up my liver as well - I had normal ALT levels until this last blood draw, when they went up sky high while on Reta. Hoping that they return to normal on my next draw.

Is your rheum aware that you are taking peptides? I decided to tell mine and he was livid! But at my next appt when he saw how much weight I'd lost he actually congratulated me and asked for information about it to give to his other patients.
