Pooping and Reta

Reta can cause constipation. You also mentioned low-carb. Fiber usually comes attached to carbs. So, if you cut out carbs, you lose fiber intake. You can add fiber supplements mentioned above.

Also, remember that Reta can lower thirst drive. Being dehydrated also causes constipation.

At higher doses, Reta keeps you in a glycogen-depleted state, which makes it hard to lift hard or do lots of cardio - you'll just hit a wall and wonder why (like I did). Low-carb and fasting are old tools/habits that don't serve us well with Reta. I wouldn't go so far as to say low carb is contraindicated with Reta but low-carbing while glycogen-depleted is probably not optimal.

I went to walmart and got the generic orange fiber supplement. 1tbsp a day mixed with water has helped me a lot.

Miralax in my morning protein shakes
Easy enough to add with the creatine.
And drink a lot more. Fluids become a larger issue with GLP's

This is why the psyllium husk reccs bother me. If you don’t get enough fluids, it can plug you up, and that happens very easily on glp-1s.

MiraLAX only works - gently- in the “help” direction. Once a person is adjusted to the glp-1 dose maybe hop over to the natural stuff if they want.

Another option: stool softeners. Helps pull additional water into the alimentary canal. They are not laxatives, so they won’t stimulate (cramp).

And yes “happy poo” cereals are easy.

Prunes were popular when I was pregnant. I didn’t get on that program 🤷‍♀️ but there were individually wrapped ones that everyone seemed to like.

Also: if your daily vitamin has cheap iron in it, that can plug a person up too.

I love me some Magnesium Glycinate, it's easiest Magnesium on the stomach as Citrate can be a bit harsh for my taste.

I learned to add in fiber while on tirzapatide. My go-to is kashi crunch (aka: colon blow). Warning: pros only.

Much more regular on reta.
kashi is tasty stuff. your comment made me laugh.

It has been pretty hard to get used to normal moving from 2-3 times a day to once or twice every 2-3 days. It bothers me and for the first 5 weeks I was kinda abusing miralax by just autopiloting a cap full a day. Obviously I know that I am no longer eating 3000-5000 calories a day so it makes sense that less in = less out but I am not at peace with the change.

Oh my god ever since I started Tirzepatide I’ve been tearing my peach ring up in the bathroom, definitely need more fiber and water intake.
Psyllium husk my friend, drink it with water like it's a large tequila shot. I have one in the morning and when I get home from work. It accelerates cholesterol removal and prevents gallstones if you keep the water uptake .

Of course can be taken with or without Tequila🙂

for plain psyllium husk, i mix up a drink packet. i like the starburst ones. the lime mixed with the psyllium resembles key lime pie. makes it easier to get down the hatch.
