My massive stash is in my even-more-massive chest freezer. Stuff I'm likely to need to get at in the next year is on a shelf near the top, stuff I won't need for years is at the bottom.

I got a NIIMbot on prime day. I'm obsessed with it and am labelling things all over the place.

I never labelled my individual vials. I bought three kits at a time, packed them into thermoses that hold thirty vials, labelled the outside and inside the lid of the thermoses, and chucked them in the freezer. When I couldn't fill a thermos with the same batch, I packed in things with different colored caps, and labelled what color cap meant which thing.

I want to label my individual vials. It would be so cool that, any time I pulled a vial, it said what it was, what it came from, the amount in it, the batch number, and when I got it. I can do that with any kits I have coming; but I have a decade's worth of stuff in the freezer and I want to do it.

But those are packed into thermoses that have never been opened, dessicant packs on top. For every set of vials, it will mean opening it, dumping out the vials, putting the labels on, repacking them into the thermos dessicant back on top, and close it up. I'm guessing that'll take 5-10 minutes each, during which time they will warm up and then refreeze.

I think this is absolutely fine and I am being silly. I ALSO simultaneously think this is going to be putting them through a freeze-thaw cycle and I'll lose potency for no good reason except that I wanted to label things after the fact.

Somebody tell me it's fine, calm down. Or tell me it's NOT fine, don't do it, everything will be ruined forever.

Something to consider
I keep a record of kits: mass/seller/date/cap etc.
When I put several in a thermos for storage I just printed my record an tossed it in there, this way I can label as I use them..

That is if you TRULY wanted to be talked down.

Maybe you can label your vanilla beans and lotions to get your fix?

Yeah, I did that too.

I DID. 😭

Can't you do this with your face in the freezer, in small batches? Like open the door briefly, elbows on the freezer shelf, apply 10 stickers quickly, close the freezer for 10 minutes to get the ambient temperature back down. Then do the next set of 10 the same way. You can even wear gloves so your fingers don't warm up the vials. It will even feel more "sciency" this way.

They're packed into the thermoses with so little wasted space; I really would have to dump them out to get at them. I COULD dump them onto something frozen without actually pulling anything out of the freezer. But I think if my most freaked-out inner Gollum is right and letting a set of vials come to room temp over the course of ten minutes and refreeze actually WILL impact them in a significant way, then I ought to just leave it alone.

I've done it numerous times, and I'm not concerned. I had my stuff unlabeled (I knew which ones were which) in the case until I got my printer. I got a Nelko P21 for vial labels. Did it again when I got a Niimbot and round labels. My one case is maybe out 10 minutes or so. Now, with all the new stuff I have showing up, I label sides and caps before being tucked away. I figured it's been in outdoor. warehouses, trucks and my entry. Another day isn't a killer.

Well...it would be good to know what they are exactly...these sit in warehouses and travel through extreme temps to get to us yet they survive. I think it will be fine. Some don't like the arctic temps so make sure you're storing them right to begin with.
I leave mine out until I label.

Are you using water-resistant vinyl labels?
I fret.
No I am not, which is part of why I'm low-key concerned. I DO have printed COA's in there just in case, but the current labels are paper based.

I'm not actually sure about the niimbot ones. They FEEL kinda rubbery.

Mostly tirz and reta, a little survo, some epitalon, and a few kits of klow. And none are reconned.

So I can’t find it. But I did see where somebody did a test on another forum. They took three lypholized vials and left them out in three conditions for weeks. One on a hot porch, one in non climate controlled garage, one just sitting out in the house. They were tested all from same batch (kit) prior to compare results too. What they found was little to no difference made In terms of degradation after they done this. If I remember right the one that sat on porch was like .001-2% less potent but everything essentially held up. I’m gonna scour that forum tonight to try to find this info. Long story short I do t think you could hurt them going through a defrost cycle to label them. I’ve done it , but I’m also not decades invested. Just enough to know I’ll never be overweight again

Just did this the other day (I am using hyrdapeaks with 3ml vial silicon inserts) and I really wasn't all that concerned about it - they're not going to be out of the freezer for all that long, and it will be easier for you going forward to quickly identify what's what.

Obviously in the future you'll just label before popping them in the freezer, but just operate as quickly as you can and you should be just fine.

FUCK TO THE YES!!!

YOU GO GIRL!!!

I am with Bnlfl get that shit labeled!!!!!
If you got the time, its a freaking great idea, u already have a lot of money and time invested in this "hobby" take it to the next level yo!!!!!!

Your peps will be fine if you pull them out of the freezer to label. But that would also be a waste of time 😉
I'm three times divorced and never had kids. My time-budget can be allocated to pretty much any wild hair or urge I feel outside of working or sleeping hours. 😀

THANK you. I'm learning how to play "Wonderful Tonight" on my drum, so it'll definitely be a day or two for someone to pop up and say "um acktually," but I was so hoping somebody did something somewhere.

ok I changed my mind. Taking things to the next level is my least favorite thing. Who wants a free NIIMbot?

There are no issues removing them to label them, even if they reach room temperature. Just put them back when you're done. It's just going to be a PIA.

I want to do the same thing. But I know in the future I will have a new label design that I like better. I can see myself peeling all the old ones off for the new design. Who knows how many times I would do that. So far I am just leaving them alone.
