Razor scooters are a thing, up to 220ish pounds.

I've used a kick scooter on and off as my primary workout (on and off) for about five years. I've been treadmill-walking for the last couple of months because I'm Texan now and I don't go outside in the cold, but it's 52 degrees today and that's warm enough for it. Zipping around on a razor scooter lightly involves pretty much every muscle in my body; arms, shoulders, legs, core, ass, everything, and I see everything noticeably tighten up when I'm scooting a lot. It also keeps my balance and confidence great, is terribly fun, allows the same "look how pretty everything is" as walking except it's faster, and I'm safer from dudes who would like very much to sex-pest me on the street because I'm moving too fast for them to hassle and also it's alarming to see a middle aged woman on one, so dudes on the street give a wider berth. It very much meets me where I am, fitness wise, and is do-able whether I'm in good shape or poor; the only difference is how much ground I can cover before I get tired, and how fast I can go. I can go all kinds of pretty places I'm not supposed to be in, and look at pretty things, and I do.

They're foldable, very lightweight, and super convenient. I've owned multiple models from different companies, and you CAN spend a bunch of money on a fancy one, but I favor the razor lux. It's about a hundred bucks on Amazon, and I pick up a new model every couple of years, which is nice because "going scooting with randompersonrandom" is a thing that my friends know is always on offer and they take me up on it from time to time. I do wear a helmet, and elbow and knee pads are recommended (which I don't do, I'll chance a scrape and have gotten them from time to time.)


Heading out to the park on mine now, but I thought I'd drop the fact that it's a thing in here. The weight limit is 220 pounds, though I've known people who exceed that and nothing terrible happened, so your results may vary.

Very nice! I bought myself an electric bike to ride to work on this summer, definitely losing a bunch of weight is freeing in so many ways. Every year we float the river a few times, and the floats are rated to 220 or so weight, I've been rocking on those 100 pounds over, busted a few too. This will be the first year floating where i will be within the weight limits of a regular river run float tube and super excited.
