I haven't been able to find ANY data on people taking the low dose for long periods of time. Am I the only one?
Though advertised by dieticians as a starter dose, so far I have found it enough to produce results.
Nothing dramatic, but I've gone from 98kg to 93kg in 6 months. This is after decades of being stuck between 94-99kg.
My exercise routine is the same as always, about 8,000-10,000 steps/day with a visit to a gym 2-3 times a week for some light weights and 20 minutes of cardio. Once a week I do 60 minutes of hilly cycling instead of a lot of walking.
It has definitely helped curb my alcohol intake, down from 3-5/day to 2/day. I also no longer feel like snacking at night. Last meal is 7 or 8pm and I am good until 7am the next day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are a bit smaller in volume than in the past but the food itself hasn't changed at all.
Here in Japan, the national health plan will only pay for GLP-1 if your BMI is 35 or 30 and you have other co-morbidities.
But even without any insurance support, my cost is just ¥300/day ($2).
The full-price rate is ¥22,000 (2.0mg Ozempic) or ¥29,000 (2.5mg Monjaro). Higher doses are priced similarly.
Taking a pill 30 minutes before breakfast isn't an issue for me. I suppose if I could make due with a weekly .25mg/dose of Ozempic, it might be a more convenient than a daily pill, and the cost would be close to Rybelsus 3mg. But I'm not eager to mess with what is working now.
