Hey folks!

Is there anyone here who actually poops better after starting Tirz?

For the past several years I was often having constipation issues, especially when upping my protein. I had a feeling that the healthier I'm eating, the more problems I'm having to take a nice proper everyday dump. Lots of veggies, oats, lean meats, fruit, stuff like that.

My story is I was at the verge of obese like 8 years ago (drinking problems, weed problems). Then I quit cold turkey and I changed my life around, started eating healthy, been lifting in the gym regularly for several years, managed to drop around 30 lbs of fat, then the scale stopped and I struggled throughout the last few years, going a bit up and down, managing to keep most of the weight off, but still being a bit overweight with some belly fat especially. All this time I would feel constipated regularly. Sometimes like for days.

Recently, I did some bloodwork, and it turned out that even though I'm taking better care of myself now, I'm at the edge of pre-diabetes (5.7% HbA1C). With my parents both being diabetic, I got my doc to prescribe me Mounjaro.

After about day 3-4 after my first shot, I felt like my bowels finally got to work well. I poop every day, regularly in the AM, and I'm flabbergasted at this, having read earlier that tirz gives more constipation usually. I was rather expecting to shit bricks every 2 weeks, but I'm actually producing nice chocolate pudding each morning.

Anybody else experienced something similar?

Some people get constipation some people get the reverse (I'm going to avoid your dessert based metaphor). So if you lean one way or the other and you end up with the right side effect, there you go.

I tended towards constipation after I upped my protien after years of what was likely IBS. So from went from extreme to the other. On Tirz, it leveled out and I'm the most regular I have neen in a long time. I have heard this from other people that struggle with this. We got a nice little bonus from the med.

IIRC I've seen lots of posts regarding changes in gastric emptying

Do a search of this forum on IBS, constipation, colitis, diarrhea, pooping (any relevant words) and you'll find loads of discussions regarding improvements and/or changes.
Every body is different it seems 🙂

(The searches bring up discussions in people's Intro sections which can easily be missed too).

I did Tirz for almost a month before switching to Reta.

I’m more regular now than before by a considerable margin, a benefit I hoped for and enjoy.

To be fair, that sounds like a recipe for constipation to me (unless you're drinking enough fluids AND your body is properly directing them to your stool rather than peeing them out). You don't "moisturize" your skin by applying more water to it and the same generally holds true of your homemade chocolate pudding.

Either way, glad to hear things are flowing better for you these days.
