Should I bother returning or just eat it

I have a question about whether it is worth it to try and return some peptides from an online research company. Was just learning about Reta at the end of last year, which was also right when I was hearing about how it was going to become unavailable at the end of the year. (This was also before I found this community too, which has been so eye opening.) I panic-bought 12 vials of r10 for about $80 each (I know, I know…), but have since been able to find some other vendors from this site that have been great so far. So my question is this. I reached out to customer service of the reseller, and they agreed to accept the return, but I guess I am worried that since it is Reta, and they maybe cannot sell it again, that they might do something like claim it was damaged when it returned or unacceptable or something and then not accept the return. Then I’m out the money and the Reta. Am I worrying too much? Should I just eat the cost and chalk it up to learning? Feels like it might be hard to dispute with my credit card company lol!

Return half of them!

You made the decision to buy the product for that price. Since you asked for opinions/advice, mine is that you keep it. We all overpaid at some point. Just use the product and do more research and price comparisons going forward, like most of us have. And don’t take this same mentality into the grey market because chargebacks and disputes ruin flexible payment options for the rest of us.

I appreciate that. And that’s the reason I asked. I am still learning and didn’t want to be a dick about it. Obviously wasn’t expecting any of that in the gray space, but since this was like with a credit card and kind of legit, I wanted the opinion of a more seasoned community.

Please do not take reselling lightly. If you decide to do so, EDUCATE the people you are selling to. Be positive they know how to reconstitute, and how much to inject. People who don't know what they're doing often inject 10 times more than they should, end up in the ER, then point to the friend that sold it to them. Then it's in the news about how DANGEROUS Chinese GLP 1s are, and the friend ends up getting prosecuted.

Honestly I’m going to probably return half like someone else said. That seems like a decent compromise. And it made me laugh when someone suggested selling it. Literally no idea how I would do that!

They offered a refund, then send it.

Does it work?
You wanted it.
Caviat Emptor
You got it. Use it.
If it didn't test, that's different.
There's every chance the next order will be more money still.

Not like it was bunk.... idk why they'd even take it back because you found a cheaper deal. That's crazy. Here you'll need a lab report to show its shit before a reship/refund and they won't want it back, costs them more to adjust inventory and reship instead of writing off the 20 bucks.

In the grey market, credit card buys you absolutely no protection, because you never ever do chargebacks no matter what. It's not Amazon. To put it bluntly, you illegally bought dope from a pusher.

The usual and customary reasons that one might expect a refund from a grey vendor are limited to 1) Customs seizure/loss of shipment; 2) substantial underfilling; 3) bunk or worse.

I suspect your vendor will accept your return and give you no refund whatsoever. But don't even go there, please.

There are reputable forums similar to this one, and also Discord/Telegram servers, with Buy/Sell/Trade (BST) boards where you can offer them for sale. Price them a bit under the prevailing market price with shipping costs on you, explicitly name the vendor, offer to include relevant COAs if you have them, and they should sell easily.

This is helpful! I guess the vendor wasn’t gray. They were just an online retailer. They do have a return policy and everything. If I have a confirmation of them being willing to accept my return, I do think I’d have grounds to dispute it with my cc company, right?

Are there even gray research sites that accept credit cards? They may accept returns and refunds because if you initiate a chargeback it could compromise their account. Returning half seems like a fair compromise as they still make a profit. But they could also just screw you so you need to rave some sort of return authorization and tracking in case you have to file a dispute.

I don’t think I understand the comment.
Using gray market isn't illegal, selling it is.
At that point you bear full responsibility for any misuse, or bad reactions as well as the consequences of breaking the law.
You've made one poor, uninformed decision. I'd advise not doubling down.

It is not illegal to possess non-approved medications. The FD&C Act and state laws prohibit sale and distribution of unapproved new drugs (including biologics and peptides). An unhappy person who holds a grudge, or if someone got injured, even accidentally, could get you in sticky legal troubles. Just a bit exaggeratedly suggesting you think about it before doing it. As we’re all about eyes wide open risk taking…

ETA I see now that @RetCurious already answered elegantly!

I suspect the reason their product was so expensive to begin with was:

1, added cost of accepting credit cards 3-5% goes to cc company.
2, loss from returns and charge backs
3 legal fees when they get sued from someone improperly using product which is easier if there is a local legal entity.
4. The added time involved in dealing with 1,2 and 3.
5 etc.
Chinese vendors that accept crypto have the best prices because their overhead is much less. They don't have to deal with most of those things. That is the beauty of the grey market!!

I say return it if you can. They chose to take credit cards and have higher prices to make up for it. You chose to pay a higher price and you have the convenience of using a credit card and all that that includes.

Why not use it? My confused.

Integrity is everything. There is nothing wrong with your kit, you bought and then had second thoughts and realized that you panic bought. Even considering doing a chargeback says a lot about you, and none of it is good.

I love the ease of using credit cards for these purchases, I'm too old and uninterested to learn crypto, but there are fewer and fewer peptide sellers taking credit cards, and this is because of unscrupulous people like you.

Go kick rocks.
