For me, it is a given that I'll continue to pay to have my peptides tested for purity, content, and endotoxins. I'm trying to understand/get educated about the 'worth it' considerations around solvent testing. I understand there are some pretty harsh solvents used during the production of peptides and some can be pretty dangerous if found (carbon tetrachloride, Dimethylformamide (DMF), Trifluoroacetic Acid (TFA)) to name a few. Have you had your peptides tested for residual solvents? Do you feel it is worthwhile? How much of an issue is this really? I'd love to hear from those folks way more educated than I on this subject. Thanks.

At some point, you just have to say enough. I think purity/mass (mostly for mass) is always worth it. Right now, endos are probably marginal but worth it. Generally endos haven't been an issue and only the worst we have seen would potentially be an problem for most people. At some point though you just have to say if your that worried, Lilly is always there. There are always going to be risks with gray. You can substantial mitigate them with smart vendor choice and testing, but you can't eliminate them so trying is pointless.

StG suggests that every batch "should" be tested for mass/purity and endotoxins, and that periodically checking vendors manufacturing process for TFA and heavy metals is enough.

They also suggest that sterility is largely a waste because people should be filtering. I think that that is good advice, but I'd still like some sterility testing just to know what I'm dealing with.

I will likely test for solvents in addition to the usuals. I'm buying for a few people, it's worth it to me (and them).
