Stalled, needing perspective

I started taking compounded tirz in September, hoping this would be the tool to help me lose 60 lbs and get my doctor off my back. I started on 2.5 and was amazed at how food noise vanished, my appetite was under control, and my issues with hypoglycemia stopped. I switched to grey when I ran out of compound.

Calories are between 1000-1200 daily, I get 10,000 steps daily, take fiber gummies and Mag0 to keep everything moving smoothly. Food choices are mostly protein and veggies. We have saved so much $$ in food costs because eating out is never appealing and my urge to snack between meals stopped cold.

Weight loss was never dramatic, I was losing about 5 lbs a month and then it stopped after 20 lbs. I increased to 5 mg, lost two more pounds in four weeks. I figured that meant it was time to go up again, so I have been on 7.5 for almost a month. No change in weight for 6 weeks, despite the higher dose.

I'm honestly considering just going back to 2.5 and being satisfied with the glucose control and appetite suppression. 20 lbs is still 20 lbs. My GERD has gotten a lot worse which could be the tirz. I'd like to lose 20 lbs more to have a normal BMI, and my vanity would LOVE to lose 40 lbs, but this is starting to feel like the limit of what this peptide can do for me.

I am still having great appetite control and food noise is non-existent. I cruise past the office kitchen birthday cupcakes and am not even slightly tempted.

Thoughts? I feel like adding something (Reta?) could push the process along, but am wondering if I should just let it be.

I'm not thinking about adding reta, because I am thinking about doing less, not more. It doesn't seem like my system is responding even after increasing the dosage twice. Not everyone responds to this peptide.

I don't want to flood my receptors and become so adapted to the peptide that the other effects stop too - I would hate to lose the appetite control, etc.

Maybe some others have had longer stalls? I certainly can move to 10 mg after 4 weeks of 7.5, but at this point I'm not confident weight loss will follow. So part of me thinks 'well maybe this is as good as it gets, and 20 lbs is still good, why not move to maintenance now?'

Fwiw my small group of local friends are responding well to 3.5 mg and 5 mg, so it's disconcerting to be at 7.5 with no weight loss after a month and a half. Just not sure what to think.

Ok, you said you were considering reta.

Obviously you are responding to this peptide, considering you lost half way to a healthy weight and a third of the way to your goal.

Doesn't matter, there is no flooding the receptors, that's bro science.

losing the appetite control is something that's going to happen in time, that's according to the lead researcher btw.

This medicine has a clear dose dependent response, more medicine = more effect, though with diminishing returns, so clearly, 7.5 isn't as good as it gets.

Stop comparing yourself to your friends, comparison is the thief of joy.

I know what you mean, and how even small stalls like this (many would say a stall is more like 3 months with no loss) make you feel it's not working. But the next logical step would be to go to 10 mg if 7.5 is not doing what you need it to.

I am/was stuck here too at 7.5, and increased to 10 which worked, a little too well. I started to get weirded out by never really feeling truly hungry in over 2 weeks, so I'm playing with stepping down to 7.5. Honestly, I think sometimes we just psych ourselves out and let impatience/unrealistic expectations get the best of us.

And yes, forget about how your friends are responding. Bodies and chemistries vary WILDLY, there are some who don't respond at all, some who have side effects so bad they have to stop the med, etc. You have responded, so that's good, follow it through and titrate up.

My wife and I required different doses of tirz from the same source. I could not handle 10mg/week due to "mild" side effects. I went back down to 7.5mg/week. Nearing my weight loss goal. My wife takes 15mg/week. She has very minimal side effects but her loss has been slower.

Don't be it a rush, you have already made great progress. Before you started what would have have done to lose 20lbs.

Some people just need higher doses to lose, there's nothing wrong with that. If you take a look around the forums, reddit, discords etc, some people don't even to begin losing until 7.5-10! Not everyone can be a super responder. The official schedule is to go up every four weeks- so if you're not losing after four, I'd go up, but that's just me. I wouldn't consider reta until you couldn't go up any more because of side effects.

How is your body composition? The first time I stalled, I didn't lose weight for weeks and it drove me nuts, but my body was just rearranging itself. I have a nice waist again, my clothes all look better on me.
