Good morning, I have everything I need to start reta and I’m a bit concerned about possible mood effects. Could you share your experiences? I’d like to begin with 1 or 2 mg per week to align with the minimum doses that were also used during experimental phases. What have you experienced at these dosages?

Thanks a lot
Elvira

In general the studies do not show any significant effects on mood good or bad overall, except once they cause significant weight loss and people on average experience improved quality of life then.
In practice a lot of people get some degree of fatigue or flatness of mood, I would suggest not worrying about it as it is super easy to talk yourself into these effects. If you have a significant mood disorder like major depression or anxiety , I would still say the same thing, and only worry about it if your mood actually changes. Constantly self checking to see if it is impacting your mood sounds like a really good way to have it impact your mood.
The only really common side effects are nausea, vomiting , constipation and diarrhoea that are very variable , on average about a quarter to a half of people will have those effects to a significant degree and usually they are most likely to start and be at their worst at 2 - 4 months after starting while increasing doses, and in most people they usually get better over time. Reta can also cause some odd or unpleasant skin sensations but this is much more likely at higher doses.
At a starting dose of 1mg the most likely effects are nothing, maybe a bit less hungry , a bit less likely maybe a little bit nauseous.
It is worth knowing that each dose takes around 24 hours to be absorbed to get to peak levels where side effects might happen, and it takes a week for levels to drop back down to half that, so that on the same dose, levels will build up for 4 weeks or so. Which is why you are meant to wait 4 weeks between increasing doses. If you do get side effects and want to understand what is going on https://glp1plotter.com/ can be used to graph out blood levels to work out when peaks of levels and side effects are happening.
