Storage Cases for the Freezer?

I am using freezable lunch boxes (Packit Freezable Classic Lunchbox from Walmart). I currently have everything in the original boxes in large Ziplock bags with desiccant packs inside and I put that in the lunch box in the freezer. They have built in gel ice packs and they hold quite a few kits (and bonus, they come in a really cool spaceman print 😂). I did 3d print vial holders to insert into the lunch boxes but that's a project for another day.
 
I use a Hydrapeak 32oz stainless steel food jar with a 3ml vial insert 2-pack + ice pack (holds 42 vials). The insert keeps everything organized and the thermos gives it an extra layer of insulation. Works great in the freezer.

For moisture control I throw in a couple Micro-Pak bentonite clay desiccant packs and keep a Govee Bluetooth hygrometer inside to monitor temp/humidity.

Total setup runs around $50-65 and everything's on Amazon.

The existing rubber cap that is under the vial topper/foil…. usually just pulls right off. I just put the kit boxes in the freezer next to my frozen juices and soups. 😛 Some overflow fruit in there as well. I have a mini freezer in my room so I don't have to worry about other people knocking them around.

I have thought about getting a temp monitor for it just because that freezer isn't always opened regularly. The defrost cycle doesn't bother me. Lyophilized peptides are pretty sturdy.
 
Mine are in one of these uppsnofsad containers from Ikea, in the little drawer at the top of my freezer. Which is also where I keep my ice bricks. I figure it's the best place for it in an emergency. This year is the first I've had a freezer stash, and we usually lose power sometime around Christmas (storm season) so will have to come up with a better safeguard by then I reckon. But this suits me for now.

Repeated freeze-thaw cycles can break down the peptides over time. Your normal freezer will go through a defrost cycle that lets the temperature briefly raise above freezing to help prevent frost build up. Not long enough for the food in the freezer to thaw, but long enough that if the peptides aren't insulated, they might thaw enough to hurt the peps. Hence a lot of people insulate their peptides in the freezer to keep them safe.

Right now I am rocking a hydropeak with some 3d printed inserts that let me store 64 vials in it. I also 3d printed 2 desiccant holders that fit in the space of a vial to keep everything dry.

You certainly can - it’s good to segregate maybe and you can buy nice coloured boxes for different vials
 
Desiccant packs really don’t work very well if there’s any sort of seal issue. None of these 3-D printed cases are going to do a good job keeping moisture out. Perhaps if you use a mason jar or sealed in some sort of mylar bag or something.

Depends on the print. You can print out a case with a tpu seal that will do a decent job.
 
I have a 'faux Pelican' air tight, waterproof case ordered offa Amazon that perfectly fits a space on one of my freezer shelves. If it is anything like a real Pelican case, it should be sealed heavy construction and keep the cold in through freezer cycles...I'm going to lower the freezer temp from the current -17c to -22c. I'll add some insulation to the inside of the case if there is room. It will hold 18 kits which is close enough to what I have coming in over the next couple of weeks... I will get a smaller freezer case to hold 3-6 months worth of peps for monthly reconstitution access, and keep the main storage closed...I like the idea of a temp monitor 👍 I love the information on all these threads...who knew, defrost freezers were a problem...😎😎

I bought a 30ml vial case off of Amazon that was 3d printed and has a 'seal'. I think it may be from the same company that is doing the referenced vial kit cases....It was beyond bad. That seal wouldn't keep a popcorn fart out....and it was $22...I kept it because that's where the pfizer water lives...it does keep the light out...👍

That very well could be either a poor design or a poor print or both. Couldn't tell you. I know its possible to get a decent seal with 3d printed containers. But it is true that they can't compete with traditional containers head to head for sealing quality.

In order to keep a proper moisture seal, you need high molecular weight material, such as mylar. I’m a pipe tobacco enthusiast, and the people in our community have done a ton of experimentation around keeping moisture levels intact.

I also do a lot of work with semiconductors, where the topic of desiccant packs comes up a lot. Unless you have your desiccant pack inside of some sort of high molecular weight container, you can expect that it won’t be much good over any appreciable period of time.
 
I like these airtight tubs. I get them from bezos.

Does that come in different colors?

Jokes aside - some of the 3d printed ones I see here look pretty good, practical, neat and colorful. I can’t get them here and maybe I must learn to print them.

I currently just store in the supplied clear plastic containers in a spare freezer in the store room- overflow from our kitchen - so it’s very rarely opened

I use this boxes because it keep a constant temp in it. It's polystyrene. Way better that plastic ones...you can write on it if you find only white. Anyway depend of the size it store a decent ammount
