This looks promising

Anyone being picked by Trump is a puppet for republican agenda, they’ll find a way to keep it out of the hands of poor people

What do you mean? I trust Dr. Oz with my life to keep Medicare benefits for our elderly safe.

Yeah, because right now it’s going so well to afford peptides like monjaro for many folks .The FDA is the one that determines if a peptide is in shortage or not. now the head of the FDA is gonna be someone who definitely supports compounding.

Nice to have an actual physician in charge of Medicare instead of a public policy administrator. Medicare isn’t going to be gutted or stopped…

I won't support any pick who supports Medicare advantage plans. They're predatory.

Compounding is a bandaid fix for a broken healthcare and pharma system. We need drug price bargaining like the rest of the civilized world, and that's not going to be on the agenda of a Trump appointee.

The fact of the matter is that the risks are higher for those of us going to the grey market or compounding pharmacies vs. the name brand drugs, and many drugs that have similar issues don't have compounding or China options.

If anything, the head of a compounding pharmacy is directly incentivized to make sure that the name brand drugs remain priced out of reach of everyday people.

Depends on how they are done..

depends on how it’s implemented ….. almost half the US relies on some form of government assisted healthcare whether it’s Medicaid or Medicare

I'm aware, I work in healthcare.

As they are now, the plans are predatory. They'll set up tables outside pharmacies and grocery stores to get people who are uninformed to switch via sales talk, and then when I see that patient for a broken hip six months later, they can't afford the $1500/ night copay.

Well, I guess Band-Aid fix is a better than nothing.. yeah I would love to pay 150-200 a month like the UK does. The US spends more than any other country for drug research and development and we foot the bill for the price too .its crazy

Consumers have to know the plan they sign up for. Every plan has its benefits and risk. High deductible plans are even worse. I am no fan of Medicare advantage or high deductible plans, etc…. Insurance no matter which company , or government is usually the worse part of the job.

That's kind of my point, though. We talk here about how people are too dumb to do the very basic math required for peps. They're also too dumb to understand the intentionally hard to understand terms of insurance.

People shouldn't go broke just because they don't understand intentionally convoluted TOS. Ergo, I won't support someone who supports taking advantage of the elderly.

People are being intentionally misled though, Medicare advantage is a scam

Well, we really don’t know what’s gonna be done. It’s not 2025 yet. I remember the affordable care act and how it affected my family’s premiums. It was horrible.

I can't deny it was implemented incorrectly. But states refusing to accept federal aid to expand Medicaid played a large part in that, and overall a lot of people who hadn't been insured before were able to become insured. I also cannot possibly overstate how much getting rid of preexisting conditions was a positive.

Most private healthcare insurances are scams to some degree lol
I had to buy my wife’s insurance and I used the exchange. They recommended a healthcare company with a really good price, but I knew that insurance wasn’t covered at the local hospital. It would’ve been a useless policy. It’s not just the elderly that are being scammed. Yeah there’s no advantage of Medicare advantage that I could see.

Yes, we could’ve had an expansion of Medicaid / Medicare / reform the current system to pay for that instead of ACA mandates. The states didn’t want to accept the federal aid because they were afraid it would be cut in the future, leaving the states bankrupt. Then, of course, the individual mandate really wasn’t a tax and was found unconstitutional.
