I’m three weeks into treatment. So far I have zero appetite suppression—literally nothing—and I don’t think I’ve lost any weight either.

I did 1 mg the first week, then increased to 2 mg per week starting week two. I split the dose into two 1 mg injections per week.

At the moment, it feels like I’m getting only side effects, mainly anhedonia and fatigue, which started after the last 1 mg injection.

My questions are:
  • How long did it take for it to actually start working for you?
  • Does the anhedonia persist throughout the treatment, or does it mainly occur after injections?
I wish you a peaceful and joyful Christmas.

Everyone is different, but with that said, 85%+ respond to the medicine. Odds are in your favor. I turned out to be a hyper-responder losing 115lbs in 11 months stacking Tirz and Reta. That is 47% of my body weight. Looking back I just have to say wow. But, during the 11 month journey it seemed like forever. My only advice is just keep taking the shot and titrating up at a pace that minimizes the side effects. The effects accumulate over time. You just have to be patient. Good luck and best wishes. The journey is life changing for most of us.

You are still on a low dose, I didn’t get any suppression on appetite until 6 mg.
About side effects, for some they go away over time, for others they don’t. It’s difficult to say.
But the medicine is working from day one, all the great effects that helps with weight loss.
Keep going ! 🙂

I would say that my weight loss started the first week. But I also started a calorie deficit the first week. If you aren't losing weight then you aren't in enough of a (or any) deficit.

If you are talking about weight loss I highly recommend that you start tracking your calorie intake. You need to be running some sort of deficit and that is hard to gauge if you aren't tracking. Though there are plenty of people that don't track, I don't understand how you would go about monitoring your personal titration schedule, your personal TDEE and macros if you aren't tracking what you are consuming.

Absolutely agree with counting calories, otherwise you have no idea of how many calories you’re consuming. I also started working with a nutritionist (free through my health insurance plan) and logging food on the company’s app revealed some really messed up eating habits. And some funny conversations.

I'm not a great responder. 2mg would do nothing for me. I get nothing till 6 and 8mg and not much suppression so I'll take 1 or 1.5 sema as well. Took me 3 weeks to start losing 1 to 2lbs a week.

Imho
Split doses - waste of time and effort, no science behind it and may not match proven clinical trials efficacy.

First weeks and months are for your body to get used to it and build drug levels. Stick to a low and slow, don't be jumping doses weekly.

I was a VERY earlier responder to Semaglutide, but it took 6mg to feel the Reta, 8mg to be reasonably effective and 12mg to be happy.
