So I just looked it up and I feel like an asshole.
5p PST is 8am in Beijing. So that means if I'm emailing my ASC rep at 11a looking for updates on shipping and other nonsense, she's answering me at 2a.
What's the protocol with this? Are we catching a clue and making an effort to send messages at appropriate times? I have this picture of my rep trying to sleep and getting alerts that wake them up when someone sends a message. Does anyone know the nuts and bolts of this?
Thanks!

I wouldn't worry much. Send a message. If they're working, they'll answer. If not, they'll answer when they are.

I've also seen a couple reps say that they've adjusted to US time.

This. I think when working with global time zones the expectation should be that we get an answer at some point during the remote time-zones normal business hours. I regularly communicate with people around the globe for work and this is kind of the unwritten standard. If you get a response at 2:00 AM their time it is a bonus. If a company in Asia has employees dedicated to serve the US market they typically will make their work hours to at least overlap with ours, if not match.

No.. I deal with China all the time in my business. They will answer you when it is their "day" which is 12 hours ahead. However, I have to stay up some nights until I finish a deal... so it may be between 1-3 am before I get to bed,

Okay thanks - that's good to know! I take care of my own notifications so that I only get them when my 'day' has started but I didn't want to lean on anyone who doesn't have good boundaries in place because of their culture.
