Total newbie here, so I apologize for the dumb question.

Based on Tirz’s half life, do you pin every 5, or 7 days? Does it make that much of a difference after it’s built up in your body?

What’s been your experience?

5 days is the sweet spot for me. I get too hungry on 7 days and splitting it in two for a twice weekly shot doesn't work as well.
This is what I am finding as well. I just started Tirz last week, but was on Sema previously (which I found ineffective) I was going back and forth on whether I should go the 5 day route or not. The food noise is real!!

I think I will give the 5 day a shot. (No pun intended 😅)

Das ist genau mein Problem im Moment. Ich nehme die Anfangsdosis und spüre kaum eine Wirkung. Ich habe schon überlegt, die Dosis zu erhöhen. Aber ich bin erst in der zweiten Woche.

My suggestion is to go weekly and embrace the struggle (if there is one) on days 6 and 7. You'll need to develop those tools anyway for the future. I wish I had spent more time making friends with more difficult days when I was still at low doses.

I've been at 7 days for over a year. I titrated when I felt persistent food noise. I'm presently at 10mg, and have been here for over 6 months.

Since you're only on your second week, I recommend waiting to increase the dosage until week 4.. not to sound like a stickler, but I think it would be better to let your body acclimate to the medicine first. I know for me, I did not feel anything that first month on the lowest dose and I was so eager to increase it. But, I did still lose 11 lbs that first month.. so it was doing what it was supposed to do, even though I couldn't feel any difference in side effects/hunger, etc. I really hope you the best of luck! It's so exciting! 🙂

Tirzepatide vials or pharmacy Mounjaro? The starting dose @ 2,5mg is to get your system used to it and assess if there are any adverse effects on your body. Evaluate after 4 weeks, if you tolerate it well and there is room for more hunger suppression you can push to 5.

I've been on Tirz almost 4 months now, at 10mg, always did 7 days but about to start a trial run of 6 days. I want to stay on 10 longer (been on it 5 weeks now) but days 5 to 7 are killing me. We'll see if the change to 6 days helps

On Tirz for 4 weeks now. I simply started at 2.5 mg per week (every thursday) and stack that with 1 mg Tesa (5 days a week). At week 5, will move to 5 mg Tirz per week and keep Tesa at 1mg (5 days per week). Will do this for the next 4-5 weeks. If this is the sweet spot, then i will not increase and see how far that takes me first.

Yep every 5 days starting at 2.5mg. I always suggest after 4 weeks if no loss, to move up 5mg a week. But the ideal dosage is where you are losing. Stick with that one. More is not always better.

I do every Seven days. Experiencing a bit of hunger for the last couple of days of a weekly cycle is NOT a bad thing. I really want to start managing hunger instead of eliminating it.

And, even with hunger signals towards the end, you still should not be able to overeat.

You’re absolutely right. Being able to manage hunger is important. I will say, overeating has not been an issue this week for both my husband and I. We’ve both noticed a change in that department. Especially for him. He’s always been a big guy, with a big appetite.

I experimented with a split dose (partially spurred by a brief supply interruption, but I had been contemplating it anyway). I was at 7.5mg weekly and went to split doses of 5mg 2x weekly for two weeks. I do tend to get hungry the day or two before a weekly dose, but I actually found that the overall appetite suppression on the split dose was less for me, and I did worse. Went back to 7.5mg 1x weekly and progress resumed. I think everyone is different, my takeaway from the experience was don't mess with what's working. I do also like the idea that you need to manage the ups and downs in hunger as part of a sustainable lifestyle change, for when you get to maintenance.

So, I upped the dose to 5 mg and I can feel it for about four days. That's a good start. Tirz vials

So this is just my experience. I do a half dose twice a week, spaced exactly 3.5 days apart. So Tuesday at 8am and Friday at 8pm. So for me right now, I do 3.5mg for each injection and I’ve been on it a little over two months. The half life is five days, so it helps the level stay more constant in my system. I’ve also noticed it more or less took away the side effects. However, twice weekly dosing hasn’t been studied officially as much so it could have risks I’m unaware of.

If you're ramping up in dose, having hunger mid week, or seeing side-effects at the dose you need to maintain or safely lose weight (1-2lbs/week), then dose splitting can make a lot of sense. The weekly dose is mostly for convenience. Once go to a pen, you'll never see pinning the same way.

I do weekly, but stagger with Survo to keep food noise down midweek. When I was ramping, I went up 20%/week dosing every 3 days to make sure I could reduce if there were sides. It's especially helpful when you're just switching or trying out something new. But use a blood level tracker like glp1plotter!

All of this. Although if I wasn’t on rx brand I would have gone to every five days for an extra month before dosing up, then back to seven days with an increased dose.
