So I have been seeing a holistic Dr since Feb. He prescribed Tirzepitide compounded. I swore his nurse told me it was 10 mg. I asked again today and he told me it is 15 mg. I ordered my own last week, but at 10 mg. How should I go about using the 10 mg (I bought 20 vials but at a way cheaper price then my Dr was selling it and he told me he gets his overseas, soooo 😒)

  1. Grab 3 10mg vials.
  2. Reconstitute the 1st vial with 1mL of BAC water.
  3. Give it time to make sure the powder is full dissolved, then draw out all of the fluid into a syringe.
  4. Take that fluid and reconstitute the 2nd vial.
  5. Repeat step 3.
  6. Repeat step 4 into the 3rd vial.
You now have 1 30mg vial with 2 15mg doses at .5mL/ea.

If you're really adventurous you could repeat this 3 more times to have a 60mg vial with 4 doses at .25mL/ea, but if you try this I would recommend either using a little more BAC (maybe .1mL or so) to account for losses, or buy some syringes and 1.5" needles so you can draw the fluid from the bottom of upright vials through the stopper instead of the usual way.

Thanks. That makes sense.

Your timeline is unclear, but it's absolutely essential that you learn from that holistic practice what your weekly doses have been. It could be 10mg/week, or it could be that the 10mg vial they gave you for 4 weeks of draws is a 2.5mg weekly dose.

The standard protocol for tirzepatide is (assuming no intolerable side effects along the way, at which point you'd drop back down a step) is 4 weeks at 2.5mg/wk, 4 weeks at 5mg, then similarly every fourth week a 2.5mg increase in the weekly dose until you hit 15mg.

I'm guessing you've been at 2.5mg/wk and then were increased to 5mg/wk.

If you really can't get a clear written answer from the medical practice, proceed as if you've never used tirz and start the standard protocol from 2.5mg/wk as above.

Yes I am on the standard protocol of 2.5mg/wk first 4 weeks and so on. I am now at 7.5mg/wk but I do feel like at this 7.5mg/wk my hunger has been back? Not sure if the batch Dr. gave is good or not? I'll let him know. But also just buying on my own from now on so it's whatever.

agreed. before you do anything with those vials, figure out what your dose is. even starting in february, i doubt you're already at 10mg/week (unless it was a very expedited titration period), so you'll want to figure out how much to draw from the vial for each injection.
