Hi

Was on tirz for couple weeks at 2.5mg
Done nothing
Went to 5mg now got stomach cramps and bad burps

Was thinking swapping to reta

Any advice?

Reta or tirz

And whats the dosage for reta?

I've never been on reta. But I have been on tirz for a couple of months now. 2.5 did nothing for me either. When I upped to 5 I got the worst sulfur burbs. It's getting better but I also stopped taking my fiber supplement. I think that was a lot of my issue.

The burps are horrid , how long they last

With me the first two days after the shot were the worst and it slowed down the rest of the week. Until the next shot and then it's bad again but not as bad as the first week. I'm new, so I don't know if it's a terrible Idea but it might be a decent idea to drop back a bit on dosage. This first bump is doubling the amount of tirz in your system.

The burps were bad for me the first two weeks, but that was mostly my diet adjustment. Greasy food, fried anything, eggs, and beer did it to me.

Have you reduced these things? Diet can greatly impact the burps. I have to admit, the medication felt stronger when I got them. When I increased dosage, I got a little of them and smiled thinking, "this shit's working..."

I don't think that is long enough to dismiss it as an ineffective option yet, unless of course it makes you feel unwell enough to stop.

7.5 is the official therapeutic dose, though some people feel significant effects even at 2.5. Some don't feel anything until 7.5 or even higher.

Reta has it's own host of issues from side effects - none of these are side effect free.

I have heard similar complaints from some who took tirz without diet changes IE: Low fat, Calorie Deficit, high proteins, hydration, etc... I do not know if that is your situation, I will say if you look at it like training wheels, it helps you ride the bike but you make the effort, many have seen outstanding results. That being said, I have also seen some are much better responder than others. I would, if asked, enquire to that person as to whether they are getting with a program or looking for a miracle.

Many report never passing 5mg Tirz, as for me it took 24 weeks to hit 10mg. everyone is built different.

Just a beginner myself but doing reta was worried about nausea so started with splitting dose 1mg every 3.5 days first 2weeks up to 1.5mg this week the hungrys are gone plan on staying at this dose until they return no nausea either. I will be switching sources though thank goodness for finding this site I've way overpaid .

I would at least try 7.5 mg before you switch to reta. Both of my parents and a friend of mine didn't respond to Tirz til they got to that dose.

I'll echo that a clean diet will remove most of the gastro sides (except maybe constipation).

I lost 60lbs on Tirz, titrating up to 10mg during the last month or so of my 7 month weight loss journey. The biggest sides I had were constipation (that I managed with fiber, stool softener and the occasional laxative) and fatigue, which was almost always three-days after my shot. I tried dosing on a 5 day schedule for a period during this journey but found, at least for me, 6-7 days was much more effective for weight loss and fatigue. On a five-day schedule I still had 3rd day fatigue but 6 times per month instead of four on a weekly schedule.

I recently switched to reta for maintenance.

In other forums, I read other folks who had great success with tirzepatide but for whom the medicine didn't work at all until they were injecting 10 mg per week or more.

Something I have noticed as well. Eating well and exercising really does stave off many of the sides with these drugs. Whenever I disobey this rule, I pay a handsome price for about 24 hrs.
