I'm guessing the stats are the same in North-America. Maybe even more so??
People are simply eating and snacking less, which causes food profits to drop significantly.
Will get worse as well as more and more people start using GLP's.

£418 decline in spend per household when compared to non-user households.
That's a lot more than I thought it would be. I wonder if this includes alcohol/cigs as well. I'm glad more people are discovering this, becoming healthier, and saving money along the way.

Sales of crisps and chocolates are the worst hit, though sales of oral health products are up due to side-effects of the jabs, such as bad breath.
Wasn't aware that bad breath was a common side effect... Interesting that they did not mention increase in sales of laxatives.

I've actually had to increase my grocery budget because of inflation, even though I'm eating less. The only products in my day to day life that cost less than they did a year ago are GLP1s.
I have trnasformed my diet to greek yogurt and protein ultrafiltered milk because "whole food" options are just getting out of hand for me, especially when you are weight training.

6.3% of 418 per household is a pretty small number compared to overall grocery sales.

They are certainly trying to compensate for lost sales of cheap high calorie foods by selling lots of new high protein , but usually still pretty high calorie foods at about twice the price of the non high protein versions.

In the UK chips are crisps and fries are chips. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Actually, in the US chips are fries and crisps are chips. As a Brit, I of course adapt when I am speaking to Americans and I can't say for sure what op means by "chips," hence the question.

Oh, I’m definitely looking at this from a US perspective. The only instance that I can think of where fries are referred to as chips is “fish and chips”, otherwise when someone says potato chips 99.9% of the time they are referring to the snack food not deep fried potatoes. The OP is from Canada where I believe the usage is the same as the US. The original article is from a UK source and mentions crips, so I think OP meant US chips.

I have completely lost my desire for potato chips since I started GLP.
I used to eat chips by the bucketloads.

Thankfully my desire for alcohol is still intact 🥂

I used to love a bit of chocolate after dinner every day but now I'm just not that bothered.

And like you alcohol desire is still very much alive and kicking (and my key source of carbs at the moment 😅)

Unless OP is a Brit in NA like me..! But I agree. Very logical and sensible.

I have to agree with you but I make one big distinction, a big part of the increase in my grocery budget comes from making healthier choices. The prices have gone way up for sure, but the fact that choosing food that is actually FOOD and not a chemistry project run amuck is exponentially more expensive also. That in itself is a travesty.

Chips or crisps?
These guys

I only drink vodka with either club soda or lime juice.
Thats virtually no carbs and very little calories.
I dont gain any weight after a bender, in fact I'm usually down 1 or 2 lbs

I noticed a premade single serve frozen meal labeled 'Glp-1 friendly!' At my walmart and thought that was wild. What's funny is the ingredients were still trash. And only 30g of protein for a chicken based meal. And some suckers will see that label and snap them up as if they're doing something good for their bodies. 🙄

Nice. I wish I could be like that! I am a bit of a wine fiend (and living in Italy is not helping matters)
