Unknown fillers in test reports

Lately, I've seen a fair amount of Janoshik test reports with "unknown fillers/polymers" warning in the comment from different sellers and products.

I don't check all test reports I see everywhere of course and I do check more of them at the moment, so maybe it's just me?

I'm trying to see whether or not I'm crazy or else try to make sense of all of this.

Many of the Jano (and TrustPoint) COA's don't even mention fillers. Mass and Purity is all that I am seeing.

I even went back and looked at the COA's that I paid for at Trust Pointe and it is a 12 page COA with no reference to anything but the Tirz.

Am I missing it?

In the comment section, I've linked few examples. These are the ones released very recently, but I saw more than that from more vendors.

I thought it was with one seller, than I saw other reports for other sellers like that, then I saw reports from other things than reta.

So at that point I'm not too sure what's going on with that

It's definitely popping up among a few different companies. I think this is another sign of what a lot of people have suspected for a while: many of our "manufacturers" are actually resellers buying from the same questionable source.

Everybody’s prices are within like 10% of each other and they carry the exact same catalogs. They drop prices in unison. Yeah. Almost all are resellers at various levels above manufacturers. But that’s ok. If manufacturers don’t wanna deal with us then these people add value.

I agree, and I think this model makes a ton of sense from a manufacturers perspective. I just wish we knew more about who our resellers were choosing to buy from so that we could avoid ones who consistently purchase from sources that cause these issues.

Do you think it's just for the raw that they purchase from someone else or the finished products even?

I don't know a ton about manufacturing but I believe excipients are adding during the lyophilization phase. The raws are probably fine, but whatever they add during the finishing step is creating problems.

Yeah right, it may be contaminated raw that's then detected as added filler/polymer by Janoshik.

I doubt they are that much to purchase the finished products and just resell it, but I could be wrong.

I would like to know what the substance is. Does Janoshik have any idea besides that it is a polymer? Like everyone else said it seems like there is one manufacturer who may be changing their fill.

It's hard to know because you need to compare against the reference mass of a lot of substance and also the fact they may overlap if there's multiple ones.

So I guess if there is nothing in the comments section then no unknown fillers were found?

I don't know a lot about testing methodologies but couldn't this unknown excipient be identified using mass spectrometry? We need a lab expert to weigh in here!

I've seen other things in the comment section, but yeah no comment usually means a good thing.

A lot of sellers don't even read these, cuz a lot of the ones I've seen were posted by the sellers themselves 🤣

HPLC and MS tests are often coupled together.

Janoshik provides raw data for these tests, so you can compare the m/z peaks with reference compounds from a mass spectrometry database.

This is all however out of my league lol
