I’ve only made one crypto payment, using MoonPay through my Exodus wallet to buy BTC. It was easy but the fees were harsh, and BTC is so volatile that I ended up shortchanging my reseller by $0.06 USD (luckily they were cool.) I’ve since learned about stable coins, and that’s what I am trying to do but am at my wits end. I am now in NY with a NY ID, and this states crypto rules are frustrating. I can only trade coins in very limited places (no trading in Robinhood or Exodus for me). Coinbase is my only real option, and I’m having a hard time figuring out how to change a coin’s network. Excuse every wrong stupid thing I say—there’s gonna be A LOT of wrong terminology!

I found a vendor who takes PYUSD(Sol) and BTC (which I’m trying to stay away from especially since it’s falling fast rn). The only option for PYUSD to buy on Coinbase that I saw was via the Ethereum network. I bought that on Coinbase, then sent to my Coinbase wallet-fine. I also got a little ETH and SOL for “gas,” like $2-5 worth in case it’s needed. But before I send it to my Exodus wallet, it has to be in the right form (as it were,) since the vendor specified PYUSD(Sol) & since I can’t make any trades in Exodus cuz of dumb ass NY rules.

From what I understand from a great explanation here is that networks are like the pneumatic tubes through which you send coins and you have to pay a little “gas money” fee for using their tube, but after hours trying to figure this ish out I’m boggled.

Every time I search online, I only get instructions for PYUSD(Eth)>SOL. Can you guys help me figure this out or point me to a good tutorial?

One way is to transfer it back to the exchange over the ETH network, then transfer it back to your wallet over the SOL network.

The other is to use a tool like https;//jumper.xyz - it works with Exodus to do swaps etc.

Apologies and sympathy re NYS bitlicense requirements.

I haven't done crypto in a while (maintaining my hoard). But I think what you need to do is referred to as "swap" rather than "trade", and I think that's technically a peer-to-peer thing. It occurs (I think!) on a DEX (decentralized exchange) via a dApp (decentralized application). Jupiter is the one I used, and it's buried deep in the Exodus Wallet. Or at least it is for wallets created before Date X, which mine was. Newer ones might require linking an external DEX.

If you haven't studied @peptideusername 's guide (attachment) at https://glp1forum.com/threads/paypal-usdt-solana-crypto-guide-10-21-25.7099/ , do so.

ibit.ly/cdz6M has some NYS clarification (AI, be careful) on swap vs trade

ibit.ly/Os41N on Jupiter + Exodus wallet. Note that there seems to be a cryptocurrency called Jupiter, which isn't what you want.

What I want after even thinking about crypto is to take a strong tablet, and not the digital kind.

Thank you for this detailed map (& explaining the acronyms!) I checked out the post you recommended and bookmarked it. Thanks for your time and patience!

On the list for tomorrow is reading the AI page you linked because YES I WANT ALL THE TABLETS NOW! If tirz hadn’t taken away my desire for beer, the five beers in my fridge would be empty!!

While I love learning about peptides, learning about crypto is much less fun. Necessary in this space so Imma do it, but arggghhhhh. Buy you guys make it much better 🙂
