What strange side effects have you experienced?

I always said I have no side effects, but I just discovered via Reddit a potential one which I thought was hayfever this whole time...

I've been getting blocked ears. It's a bit like when you get water in them. In my right ear mostly. Turns out a load of people on the UK mounjaro Reddit get the same thing so it's maybe a side effect?

I've never had it before, and it started around the time I started taking Tirz. But it was also April and peak hayfever season so I just assumed.

Today I have horrific nausea but I had surgery Monday, so I'd not pinned in 15 days. Took half my dose yesterday morning and half this afternoon and daaaaamn I should have waited a couple more days. 🤢
I have blocked ears too sometimes- started a few weeks ago. Never realised it was the Reta- makes sense because PCP said my ears looked good!

First day on Tirz felt like being on bad stimulants. You know when you capture a wasp or something in a glass and it panicks and zips around super fast? Felt kind of like that. Couldn't focus on anything though, just frantic energy.

I went down in dose and didn't get that effect again. Curious if anyone experienced that, haven't seen any reports of it.

I would never have even begun to think it was the glp1 until I saw it on Reddit. Literally shocked. And interestingly, I took a break for surgery and haven't had it the whole time. So there's something in it, I think!

Whenever I start Tirz again my body feels like sore like a just did a full body work out. Even now my neck muscles are still sore.

Here are some side effects that I have experienced. I am only 3 months in 🙂.

Not being able to sleep/waking up at 4 every morning.

Ringing in ears. Not as bad now

When I raise my dosage I know that I need to make sure to use Merlax.

All tolerable and I have found that I definitely need more protein. Start protocols with the Merlax. Eat right and DRINK water

Rapid weight loss can also cause temporary issues by inducing "proprioceptive recalibration demands, further compromising vestibular adaptation":

Wow, interesting read. I recently started having mild positional vertigo and an ear pressure issues in my left ear. Never even considered that it could be a semaglutide side effect. It’s a minor inconvenience but I understand how it could be impactful for those who are already a fall risk.

Oh I'll be damned. I've had the BPV since late August, and started tirz in late July. I just figured it was perimenopause, since it's a not-uncommon thing that starts happening at the start of perimeno.

I thought the ear ringing was just me lol. I do wake up at about 3:30am everyday

My tinnitus is mostly triggered by bruxism and mild TMJ like from eating popcorn. For the bruxism, I take magnesium at night along with a marijuana gummy or a more traditional muscle relaxer.

That’s what I felt like on Yohimbine, it’s a miserable experience but you can stop its efficacy by eating food.

Funny you say you wake up at 4am every morning!!! That's me!! I had tinnitus before I started so I hope it doesn't get worse then it already is now.

Not sure if anybody here has noticed a decrease in “desire”, not like an aversion or lack of libido, but it’s no longer an animalistic urge. No issues with sensitivity, performance or completion but just like not feeling driven to initiate. Wonder if this is related to the lack of desire in drinking alcohol, eating fried trash or whatever compulsions others have noticed going away.

goodness I have nobody, I wish that was something I experienced. But being on trt probably doesn't help anything.

I think I’ve only seen it mentioned once in a YouTube video but it was just a passing comment. TRT is likely the culprit in your case. It would be interesting if it affected the same addiction pathways in the brain. I have a clinical diagnosis of OCD (Perfectionism) and stopped taking medication for it once I got on Sema/Reta. Could be affecting something along those lines.

If you guys know of a peptide that will ramp up your animalistic desire please let me know. I have never had that lol

Has anyone had no effects from taking tirzepatide? I am only 2 weeks in, on a 2.5mg dose. I'm about 140lbs and thought I'd lose maybe a pound, but not at this point. I ordered from skye peptides if that makes a difference. Nothing seems different, so fortunately no side effects either. I having burning mouth syndrome, which comes and goes, and it is currently gone. I'm hoping there's a connection, but it's so hard to tell. I'm taking for pain relief, which for most happens at the lower doses.
Did it stay gone? I also have BMS. I have went to every doctor possible over 15 years and tried everything known to man. I’m willing to try any peptide. I used Semaglutide for 1.5 years to lose weight and stalled. Needing to lose 30 more pounds. Tried Tirz and did not loose any weight. But I did not connect that my mouth got better around the time I was using it and stayed better for months. Went back to Sema for a few months and my mouth stayed ok. Which is the longest period I have had with almost no BMS in 15 years. Currently using a 1mg Sema and 4mg Reta stack and losing weight again. But BMS has returned after six months. I may return to Tirz after I lose the last 25 pounds and see what happens. One thing I should mention is I also had PMR during this time period and was on 20mg Prednisone during this time period. Still on 12mg and tapering. Tirz and Prednisone were the only changes I can think of while I was basically symptom free.,

Prednisone is known to cause weight gain, maybe that's why you didn't loose on the Tirz? Maybe just counteracted gain?

I have strange pressure in my right ear...like sinus pressure that doesn't go away. It muffles my hearing in that ear. Never had this type of issue until switching to Tirz.

I've heard (not a pun) this from multiple people, and I've experienced it a bit myself. Tinnitus seems to be worse on Tirz, esp at higher doses. I haven't seen it discussed in medical circles. Mine is somatic unilateral (changes with neck/jaw position) and likely related to TMJ. Switching to Reta or going lower dose Tirz and stacking with Survo helped.

Title says it all, we all know about nausea and acid reflux, but what have you experienced with Tirz that may not be an "official" side effect, but you swear came from it?

I myself noticed increased nasal drainage from about week 2 on, and am now experiencing some lymph node swelling in my left jaw area. Seems others have experienced this too based on a Reddit search, but there isn't much talk of side effects here. I could just be getting sick, who knows. Keeping an eye on it.
Dry eyes and monster insomnia clearly related to dose / peaks

As a side sleeper I've noticed my knees "knock" each other.

I am going to speak with my doctor about it. It is really difficult to manage as I am a professor and am often teaching.

I’m not sure I’d call it a “side effect” but I had pretty bad IBS-D. So bad, I have a portable/camping toilet seat I leave in the bed of my pickup truck. It is all but cured now. Pretty sure the gastric slowing is the trick. I did have one very bad episode of constipation (a new sensation for me), but now with fiber and lots of hydration, I’m pretty damn pleased. Oh, and I’ve lost 20lbs in 3 months.

Was that you I saw in the Costco parking lot ducking behind a P.U.?
