Hello everyone

I have a decision to make.

I started out taking 2.5mg ZEPBOUND pens then 5mg pens and most recently 7.5mg pens.

I had 3 extra 5mg zepbound pens left over when my doctor prescribed 7.5mg for me.

And I have 3 of the 7.5mg pens left over now that my doctor just prescribed 10mg.

So, given that my doctor just upped my dose to 10mg. I injected 2 of the 5mg pens for my last dose and now am left with one of the 5mg pens at my disposal.

I still have the 3 of the 7.5mg pens left over.

My delivery of 10mg pens is running late because of a pre authorization delay.

I don’t want to go back to just taking 7.5mg.

For my next dose I plan to inject a 5mg pen and a 7.5mg pen while I wait for my 10mg pens to arrive.

Is taking 2.5mg more than last week going to be too much too fast?

Should I just delay my next dose by up to a few days?

Should I just go back to 7.5mg for a week?

Decisions, decisions….

What would you do?

No one will be able to tell you if you're going to have terrible sides from taking the extra 2.5mg, but I would expect not?
You could always inject your pens into a sterile vial and then draw out the correct amount with a regular insulin syringe, and save the rest for later. That's what I'd do, but I'm very comfortable with non-pen use.

This seems like the best course of action as if you up to 12.5 then go back to 10 you are continuing with the issue of dose changes-
If you are not comfortable with sterile vial and insulin needle, the option with less impact would be to save the 5 mg and go one week on 7.5, or using a plotter, found here, determine how to spread the dose out to a new scheduled day by injecting 7.5 and some days later the 5. and wait until balanced to start the 10mg- this could be done with proper calculation.
