Before finding this site and all the good information here, I purchased 2 single 5mg vials of Reta from a random single vial seller with COAs from Forever Young Pharmacy. I injected 1mg the first week then 2mg the 2nd and 3rd weeks. That was the end of vial 1 and things were off to a good start. Weight was dropping, with very little if any side effects. For my first dose on vial 2 I injected 2mg. My weight loss slowed, and I started to experience severe nausea and fatigue. The next week I injected the remaining 3mg in the vial, I actually gained weight that week and suffered from vomiting and felt like I had been run over by a bus. The following week I hesitantly injected 3mg from the first of a 10-vial kit I purchased from Nex, I started losing a bit of weight again, I still felt poor, but was improving. This last week I injected another 3mg from NEX, weight loss is back on track, and I am feeling much better again.
So, I am left to wonder what I actually injected into my body from that 2nd vial. Mislabeled Sema, endotoxins, something else entirely?
The situation you described is indeed worthy of attention. There may be several reasonable explanations for the obvious differences in efficacy and side effects among drugs from different sources for your reference:
1. Inconsistent drug ingredients: It is possible that the second bottle of the drug is not the semaglutide (Reta may refer to semaglutide-related preparations) as labeled, but has been mistakenly labeled as other drugs, such as Semaglutide (Sema) or other ingredients you mentioned. The dose-response and side effect intensity of different GLP-1 drugs may vary. Even if the dosage is the same, component differences may lead to the aggravation of side effects such as nausea and vomiting, and even affect the weight loss effect.
2. Purity and impurity issues: Medicines from non-official channels may have insufficient purity or contain impurities (such as endotoxins, contaminants). Endotoxins may trigger severe inflammatory responses, leading to symptoms similar to infections such as fatigue, nausea, and vomiting. At the same time, the body's stress response may temporarily affect metabolism, causing weight fluctuations or even weight gain.
3. Improper storage or handling: Peptide drugs have high requirements for storage conditions (such as temperature and light avoidance). If the second bottle of the drug degrades due to improper temperature or repeated freezing and thawing during transportation and storage, it may produce ineffective or even harmful degradation products, thereby causing adverse reactions and losing weight loss effects.
Individual sensitivity to batch differences: Even for the same drug, minor differences between batches (such as excipient components) may cause discomfort in some people, but they usually do not lead to such severe reactions, and the possibility of this is relatively low.
Based on your experience, after switching to a regular channel (Nex) medication, your symptoms improved significantly and you lost weight and recovered. This is more likely to be due to the first two possibilities - that is, the second bottle of medication has incorrect ingredients or quality issues.
