I’m curious who you’ve told that you’re using GLP-1s.

Friends? Family? Partner? Children? Coworkers? Your doctor? Or are you keeping it mostly private?

Personally, I’ve only told 3 of my closest friends. Before starting GLP-1/Reta, I had already lost around 20 kg/44 lbs naturally.
After starting Reta 2 weeks ago, I’ve lost another 2.5 kg/5.5 lbs (after being stuck for 6 months naturally).

That’s part of why I’m careful about telling people. I don’t want them to hear “GLP-1” and immediately attribute all my progress to it, as if the work I already put in didn’t count.

Who knows in your life, and how did they react?

Yeah me too. People Judge. They also talk.

I'm telling no one lol only my immediate family knows and that's bc I have to tell them to get their hands off my peps 😂 I'm on Reta since last Dec along w/other peps, but I'm taking a break right now bc of upcoming procedure and traveling out of the country.

Many of my friends and family have asked about my weight loss journey, so I tell them I'm doing keto and IF, which is what I do for the past 7+ yrs on top of the peps.

At first I kept pretty quiet, but now am pretty open with anyone that comments on my transformation. The health benefits are so profound (even when I was just on tirzepatide) that I feel like people need to know this is amazing medication. I have only told a select few though about other peps and reta...

I'm pretty open about it. A large amount of people I know are already on GLP's through their doctor over the last few years so it's not really that taboo of a thing.

I have a very good friend of 20yrs who struggles with weight, and who I knew was on sema maybe five years ago? Something oral like 15 years ago, and it really impacts her self image. She had to stop sema as her insurance stopped covering after like two months. We are very close, she lived with me the two years before taking a job in another state in January.

While she was living with me, I put on like 50lbs. And when she moved, I started a glp and have lost 50lbs. She came to visit last week, mentioned having gained more weight, and I absolutely told her what I was doing, and offered to send her home with three months of tirz and needles and everything. She told me she would think about it, but left without mentioning again, and I didn't try to force it on her, even though she also suffers from back pain, etc, that I know would benefit from the anti-inflammatory powers of tirz.

I tried 🤷

...it might just be how I couch things as injecting grey market Chinese chemicals I reconstitute in my kitchen 😂😂😂 but I also told her about telehealth options and pricing so she can explore, since it's well within her budget

I’ve told my spouse and my best friend of 20 years. Spouse because while I was on compounded, it was coming from our joint account, and best friend because she leads a shamanistic retreat I was planning on attending and all medications had to be disclosed before taking their medicine. Both have been super supportive.

I’ve also told my spouse about planning to get on other peptides and showed pics of NAD+ from a Google search, but haven’t yet breached the gray convo. I have much more of the adventure/risk tolerance gene!

I'm not hiding out but I'm also not shouting it from the rooftops. Told my doctor, my partner, and random Internet strangers. If people ask me how I am losing weight it's from eating better, working out more, with GLP1 supplementing. If they have follow up questions I don't mind answering.

I personally could not care less if people judge me. I’m very open about it.

The same people that judge you for taking glp1s are the same ones who would say “if only they could have lost some weight” if you died from a heart attack.

If they really care about you they’ll just be happy you’re losing weight and getting healthier.

I don't make a big secret out of it. When people ask about how I manage my weight loss it depends on the person asking what version of the truth they get.
It's either "I eat clean and move a lot more" or "OMG these Chinese magic powders are the best thing in the world". Both are true in my own little world.
