Totally not peptide related. I got a nasty dog bite yesterday. Took a big hunk out of my calf in the back. Dog was not vaccinated and is a mangy mutt. The owner is nasty! She smells like cat pee and you can smell her house walking by. They say she has 30ish cars in her house. So anyway I was just walking by down the middle of the road. We live in a trailer park. It came running out of the house and attacked me. I was hysterical and so traumatized. I had to go to er because it was bleeding bad. I had to get rabies vaccine and have to do 3 more. I also had rabies immune globulins shots. It was like the size of a insulin needle. They had to be placed in the bites and around it. Probably 50ish total. It couldn't be stitched because if it's got bacteria in it stitching it will hold the bacteria in and it would eat away inside and will attach itself to my knee hardware. It was the most awful thing I've probably been through. That says a lot because I've been through some stuff.
So how was y'all's Sunday?

Oh no! So sorry that happened to you. I had a minor dog incident years ago (nothing like yours - mostly teeth marks). Those shots were painful! I called off work after the 1st one due to the pain that felt like someone had kicked me as hard as they could on my gut.
I hope you feel better soon.❤️

That is a horrible day. I was attacked by a dog as a kid and I still get flashbacks from fighting for my life against a Doberman that was as big as I was. It has made me wary of dogs my entire life. Those jabs in around the bite really hurt as does the wound itself, those hell hounds have sharp long teeth!

I was just so mad at the nasty lady that don't take care of a dog. I mean she's really nasty and filthy and gross. And I'm not trying to be rude but yeah she's something else. And the dog poor thing I'm a dog lover and I like dogs rap two of my own but and that dog does not need to be with her. She just isn't responsible pet owner. But now I'm going to be really leery when I'm out walking my dogs in this neighborhood. I'm going to be jumpy and scared for a while

Hopefully they scrubbed it clean as well as gave you the rabies shots and gave you some antibiotics. Dog bites are notorious for getting infected, so keep a close eye on it and be prepared to go to the emergency department if it starts looking infected. ( red/swollen/fever etc)

Yes Steph and who's came by to when the sheriff's office came and they cleaned it really good and wrapped it and told me to get to the emergency room the emergency room really cleaned it very very very well. And I'm on two antibiotics so yeah I'm covered. My husband rewraps it for me so if anything looks off it takes a picture so I can see it. I've had to change the bandages a couple times because the they don't stick to your calf very well it's almost in the bend at my knees. They keep coming off so tomorrow I'm going to go get some balls and wrap around it. I have to take it off and change it every day because I have to put some antibiotic ointment on it.

Oh my goodness that post was a jumbled up mess LOL using text to talk and sometimes it gives me fits. One thing I can correct out a whole thing without just going through shit is the ambulance came with the sheriff's department and they looked at my leg and cleaned it and told me I needed to go to the emergency room.

Not as bad as yours , wow get healed. I got caught outside during a micro burst , we had tornadoes here in my part of PA. Had to clear road of 2 trees to get my wife home. Major damage clean up yesterday. Hey we're both alive and sharing stories that's a victory. Hope you have a way better week ahead !

Well it is Louisiana so I guess she'll be missing or unalived in a week or so.

I hope you heal fast!

So sorry that happened! Are you able to carry pepper spray for when you walk in that area? I live in suburban LA and almost all the dogs around my area are little ones, specifically chosen for apartment life. And most of them are on leashes (I get pissed when I see any that aren't). But every now and then I come across someone who has a larger dog not on a leash. All it would take is a loud noise or something to scare that dog and I know the owner would have no control, so I keep a small pepper spray can on me when I go for my walks. (Also, we get coyotes down from the Hollywood hills sometimes, so good to have regardless)

Yeah, i would be bringing all the police reports and medical documents to a lawyer. She would be paying those bills. I would also be making sure the park owners get copies as well, they don't want that kind of heat, she would have to surrender the dog or relocate. Sorry you had such a bad day

They quarantine the dog. I'm sure she won't get it back because she can't pay all the fines, boarding fees and all other fees. I pressed charges today. The sheriff's office said that was the best first step.

Oh my! That is scary

I am going to echo want ThatNextGril said. Carry a can of pepper spray with you when you go for a walk again. I wouldn't want to hurt any furry friends (angry or not), but I am damn sure going to defend myself. At least with pepper spray, it'll quickly deter the dog, but won't cause it long term harm. I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Story of my own. When I was in high school, I got to go be a foreign exchange student in Germany. One day I woke up with a spider bit on my pinky finger. I have gotten spider bites before and they were annoying at best, so I ignored it. well a few hours later I was sick as a dog, couldn't keep anything down, could barely walk straight, etc. So they took me to the hospital and asked me what happened. I said I got bit by a spider. They laughed and asked what really happened. When I said again that I was bit by a spider, they proceeded to tell me (or at least I think its what they said. Keep in mind I had only had about 2 or 3 years of German at that point and was loopy and nauseous as all hell at the time. My translation probably wasn't on point at that moment.) that Germany does not have a native species of spider that bites humans, so it couldn't be that. Their best guess is an American spider stowed away in my luggage, came out, bit me, and ran off. Since they didn't have venomous spiders and didn't know what kind of spider it was anyway, all they could do is pump me full of antibodies and hope for the best. The doctor told me I had 3 days to start showing improvement or he was going to amputate my finger to remove the source of the venom. Totally a fun experience as a 15 yr old in a foreign country. lol. That said....shout out to the German healthcare system and those that helped me out with that. While it was scary, they took good care of me and I am happy to report that I still have 10 fingers to this day.
