So far I have only made them in the mornings, it kind of helps me with my sweet cravings. Trying to replace it for coffee, still a struggle though... I'm a big coffee person. Wondering if anyone else has some better and tasty recipies to share 😍
  • Banana
  • HEB's Berry Medley Blend (strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry)
  • Granola
  • Chia Seeds
  • Milk
  • Ice (if fruits aren't already frozen)

I will usually make them for my after-work meal or sometimes main meal if it’s a light calorie day. Mine are pretty high in good fats and have a little texture with the cacao nibs and solidified creamed coconut which I like.

8oz almond milk
1-1.5 c. Frozen fruit, usually berries
1 Tbs. Hemp hearts
2 tsp creamed coconut (which I pre-make into little “ice cubes” for fast measuring and texture)
1 tsp cacao nibs
A dash of liquid stevia
Serving of chocolate protein powder
Dash of dried ghost pepper
Water to reach the top of solid contents in the blender

The coconut in ice cubes is a fantastic idea

I usually make my smoothies at night. It'll change depending on what I have in the fridge, but it usually breaks down to either

Generic fruit smoothie:
8-12oz soy milk (depends on the fruit)
15grams of chia seeds
30 grams of pb fit
1-2 handfuls of fruit (can be frozen or fresh)
2 scoops of protein powder
1 serving of condensed milk
ice if not using frozen fruit

or

Modified Vietnamese avocado smoothie
4oz of soy milk
15 grams of chia seeds
1 avocado
1 scoop protein powder
1 serving condensed milk
1-2 handfuls of ice

The first smoothie definitely has better macros, but my weakness is avocado smoothies even though they're so high in calories.

I never thought of using avocado or condensed milk in smoothies but this sounds SO tasty! And also a great way to use avocados, which I love, but when you get the Costco bulk bag and they all ripen at once…there’s only so much guacamole and avocado toast you can eat 😂

Yeah, avocado smoothies are super popular in Vietnamese culture, so my household goes through those Costco bags pretty quickly! There’s also a Vietnamese strawberry smoothie that’s basically the same thing, just with strawberries instead of avocado, and it’s really good too.

my first time seeing avocado that was not guacamole...
It actually works quite well-

Popular Indonesian Avocado Desserts
  • Jus Alpukat (Avocado Shake with Chocolate): A rich, velvety smoothie made by blending ripe avocado, milk, sugar, and ice. The glass is heavily drizzled with sweet chocolate syrup or condensed milk before pouring. Some regional variations, particularly in local cafes, add a shot of espresso or Milo powder

OK I am DEFS getting avocados and condensed milk tomorrow…and some chocolate syrup too!
