Zombie drug that’s a crazy headline

Xylazine has been in the heroin supply in Philly for roughly 10 years (there hasn't been old school heroin here for years) along with Fent. The area of the city is notorious for " zombies". It's not exaggerated story. It's widely viral now for a long time. Philly Zombies from Kensington is a real thing. In my line of work, I have stories.

We have had the carfentanil here …. 100 x’s more powerful than fentanyl….. easy to Overdose and die on

That is still in product here, but the Xyla is pretty much the base in these parts. These folks truly are walking around, with flesh eating wounds all over their body, naked in the streets, it's astonishing. The last year or so Amo ( anesthesia) has been put in the supply. It's the Armageddon around here.

Reminds me of the IV bath salt patients 10 plus years ago…. They were zombie- like and the abscesses and sores were horrible …….. remember cutting open the abscesses and they smelled like feces and dead bodies

Yes! Their limbs are becoming
necrotic & they're still running amuk like that. One client in our program refused medical care and it went to his heart And killed him. I could smell him from down the hall when he'd come for his sessions/ groups. The only thing I ever smelled that I could imagine smelled like death. It looked even worse.

Once you smell a rotting dead body you will never forget the smell unfortunately…….it is interesting the gas rotting flesh emits is cadaverine and putrescine. When i was in school training to be an NP we did the whiff test for Bacterial vaginosis several times in clinical … basically a swab we add potassium hydroxide too…if it smells fishy it is positive .. smells like rotting flesh because it also releases cadaverine and putrescine.

Speaking of rotting bodies....you haven't lived until someone's gangrenous toe falls off into your hand while you're doing wound care. And don't get me started on c-diff 🤢

Lol You are right ….. the c diff smell is hard to forget…had many patients as an RN with it… dealt with many gangrenous toes unfortunately working urgent care. Diabetics with neuropathy usually ….. …The smell opening the Balt salt abscesses and gray pus flowing like a river was by far the worse smell. I also did the cleaning of my ex wife’s mother’s house when she was found dead after 2 months it was pretty bad too

100%. And, I now, forever know what death smells like🤦‍♀️

Reminds me of my days in the ER and trauma as a med student.....now I do cancer drug research......
Sounds interesting. I was a CVICU RN for 9 years and got my start at a university teaching hospitals … University of Mississippi then an urgent care NP…….saw so much it was incredible… now life is boring

I’m originally from Philly and I know K&A too well. I found it heartbreaking to see the pictures of the area. Has the mayor’s attempts to clean up the area been successful?

Media wise, its talk, but you must know Philly. It's been corrupt for years. The feeble attempts are pomp and circumstance, unfortunately.

Agree completely about the corruption in Philly. I just get the media stories. Thanks for telling me what’s really going on there.
