I’m currently on retatrutide 1 mg per week, split into 0.5 mg twice weekly.

For those using the same or similar dosing:

After how long did you start noticing appetite suppression?
When did weight loss become evident?
What side effects did you experience, if any?

Sharing timelines and concrete experiences would be very helpful.

Appetite suppression started working for me about 3 days in at 1mg once weekly. I had weight loss in the second week. As far as side-effects, I had brief bouts of fatigue over the first 2-3 weeks, along with some stomach discomfort that wasn't quite up to nausea.

I started about the same dosing as you(hard to know exactly with smaller vials and overfill) but lets assume similar dosing. Though I am dosing every 3 days.

1. Probably after my second pin. Though hard to know what is drug vs placebo.

2. Well I was tracking calories from my first pin and trying to weigh myself at the same time every day. So the weight loss was almost immediate due to water/inflammation + calorie deficit. I will say that is pretty normal with any calorie restriction in my experience.

3. Burping (no sulphur), constipation (calorie restriction doesn't help), little indigestion w/ fatty meals. Some dehydration headaches.

I am on this same dosing for maintenance and general body recomp efforts, 0.5 mg every 3 days. I found that about 4-6 weeks was when I felt the appetite control. I initially lost about 12 pounds earlier this spring and have maintained it since that point, as it was my goal weight. As mentioned, I am now in maintenance and attempting to recomp approximately 5 pounds of fat into muscle and tap into the insulin-resistant benefits Reta provides. If I increase the dose, I find it too hard to keep hitting my macros to actually add muscle. Plus, with the amount of protein needed coupled with a larger dose, I am not sure the bowel movement issue would be too good of a situation, at least for me.

First time user of peptides here. I pinned myself 1mg reta last Jan 3rd and I noticed the following day I was ignoring the foods in the kitchen which I normally “taste and take a bite” and eventually eat the whole plate later on.

No nausea or any side efffects. I started calorie deficit on Dec 29, so i can’t tell the weightloss was from reta alone because prior pinning myself, i was in a deficit already. Lots of water weightloss tho.

I noticed it with 4mg. 6mg Was better. I did 2mg 4 weeks, then 4mg 4 weeks and so on. The last 4mg shot was noticable.
I also had no side effects until then. Now I get red itchy spots at injection site, because of the reta itself.

started on 0.5mg weekly and found that within a day the food noise disappeared, however I could generally eat 3 meals a day but wasnt overeating.
Weight I had lost 6 pounds in the first 2 weeks, I know a good percentage was probably water loss
Side effects I only noticed more fatigue when running, I am training for a marathon so over 10 miles was finding harder. Ive since tried 0.5mg every 2 weeks, and am now cutting out reta until I complete the race as just cant do both.
Start of March I will go back to 0.5 or 1mg for a few months as long distances will scale down

I had already been eating on a plan when I introduced Reta so it was pretty quick that I noticed that it was becoming easier to stick to my plans. Even dropped a meal out of the day. I had even considered what about placebo effect and my conclusion was “who cares if it’s placebo if it’s working”

I'm on about 4MG right now and have been on it for about 6 weeks or so now.. I have had no side effects or really any issues - I can still eat just fine. But I have lost about 24 pounds so it must be doing something lol.

I usually pin 1mg a week for 3 or 4 weeks as maintenance when needed.

I notice suppression as soon as I wake the next day and I have a very mild morning sickness/sea sickness feeling for the next 2-3 days.

I did my big weight loss about 18 months ago so just do a little maintenance burst if I feel like I’m getting a little to crazy with the food 😂😂😂

When I started 6 weeks ago I needed atleast 3-4 mg to feel any appetite suppresion. But there was a thin line between a good dose and to much suppresion and not being able to eat even 1000kcal a day.
I did to much at some occasion.
Its a little tricky to find the sweet spot.

I started at 1mg/ week - food noise and head clarity was almost immediate for me.

Appetite suppression was mild, as others have stated, wasn't necessarily hungry but was still able to eat to desired macros without issue.

About to pin my 3rd week at 1.5 - and for me - that .5 bump made a huge difference in satiating at meal time - meaning my eyes are way bigger than what I can eat in a sitting. That is taking some adjustment for me - as I forget to eat during the work day - and then try to catch up a bit later in the day - and I am not able to do so.

I will also note - that it has been more than 18 months since I tried any other GLP - and that was sema, never went above 1 mg on that - hated how I felt.

It took 3 days before the food noise stopped. One thing I don't like about it is the skin sensitivity. But I love how my body looks now.
Getting allodynia at the starting dose seems odd. I'd suggest not titrating up until those affects pass.
That was a weird feeling. I could rub a spot and be fine, but a T-shirt sliding across my skin and it felt like needles coming through from under the skin. I titrated up to 12mg eventually and never got the effects again.

Now my problem is food noise. Or I'm just burnt out on chicken and rice.

Started out at 1mg and it would work on the second day for me. Hunger went away, but I could still eat if I wanted to. The day after, I got full fast. At my second week with 2mg now and I’m not hungry often and I get full after a few bites, even from drinking.

My husband is also at week 2 and it’s starting to work for him now. He’s not hungry anymore and gets full a little faster. Today he hasn’t eaten at all, despite us being at the gym and taking a walk, so he will end up force feeding himself some protein lol

I had allodynia from my very first dose of tirz (2.2 mg). Woke up the next day, and my skin hurt just a little when I pushed on it. So I didn't push on it and forgot about it. I feel it on my legs when my pants move. It's been six months, and it's never lessened or worsened at any dose (currently at 8 mg).

I just stopped noticing it. The little mermaid got legs in exchange for pain when she walked, giving up being royalty, and throwing herself at some douche without being able to talk so that even if he DID love her, it was probably for f-'d up reasons. I got way more for way less.

Started at 2mg and felt tge hunger suppression within a few hours. Didnt really hit that loss sweet spot until 4mg. Went all the way to 10mg and dropped back to 8mg as the allydonia was getting weird.
Currently down to 4mg as I'm training for some athletic stuff.
I started back in August and lost ~22 lbs. Don't have loads of weight to lose.

I also got allodynia at 2 MG. It's annoying but everything else about Reta is so good I'm hoping that it eventually subsides.

I'm on week 4 of the same protocol, pinning 0.5mg every Tuesday morning and Friday late afternoon. Noticed effects pretty much right away. Minimal impacts to RHR, HRV and sleep.
Some things to note: I originally lost 160lb 9 years ago via low carb, powerlifting and hiking, and have never been on any GLP-1 prior. I'm trying reta to combat the effects of perimenopause-related fat gain.
I noticed effects straight away - I'm eating the same foods I was eating before reta (high protein, moderate fat, low carb, only processed food is protein shakes), I'm just eating smaller amounts. Somehow managed to drop 11lb in 3 weeks so far. It's blowing my mind, honestly.

Having experienced the suppression of both Tirz and Reta, I find them very different. With Tirz it just quiets everything flat, very impressive, chose when to eat, and probably cut my per meal volume by 50% before feeling full.. IMO this was true “suppression”.

With Reta, if I ignore any feeling of hunger for too long I find it turns into feeling ravenously hungry, it comes on fast and hard and super intense like I haven't eaten in 2 days, but I’m totally stuffed after 5 bites of food and good for hours. Pretty wild ride sometimes. I’ve experienced this at 2mg, 4mg, 6mg..

My experience with Tirz and Reta was similar in some aspects and difference in others. Even though I can't really compare since by the time I tried Reta I had built some GLP tolerance.

I spread 5 doses of 2.5mg tirz in 2 months. Food suppression was strong, and strongest 2-4 days after injection, I rarely felt hungry AND I was full super quick. I had to be cautious the first weeks. Main side effect was constipation, I had to learn to eat veggies lol. And lack of strength during workouts.

I tried Reta for the first time 4 days ago, 0.75mg. Food noise vanished after 24 hours. BUT once I start eating, I struggle to stop. Constipation is behind the corner if I don't pay attention to diet. Unfortunately is giving me very bad insomnia even at this dosage, so I'm probably gonna stop it

I have had my 3rd dose at 1mg and think it’s working I have some days I struggle to eat anything and have to force myself to eat.. but some other days like last night I ate too much chocolate.

I’m down 1.2kgs but feel super bloated all the time. Hoping that goes away soon

Going to stay on 1mg another few weeks at least then try 1.5mg see how that goes

Sometimes it’s hard ro know if I’m just not hungry or is the reta

For me personally i immediately felt the side effects and reduction of appetite the day after. Specifically feeling fatigue, slow gastric emptying of the stomach, tired very often, and sulfur burps. Weight of the scale has only gone down about 2 lbs so far after about a week and a half but i am very optimistic it will really adjust with my body and ill see great results after about a month

I had the suppressive effect in the second week with 1 mg.
In the first week i took 0.5 mg and felt nothing, but i knew that the body has to adapt slow on Reta.
Personally i don't wanna take more then 3 mg per week. Eating food should not be a fight. I could easily fast for days.

I started on 4/10/26 at 1mg/wk (1mg per shot) and felt it within the next few hours.

I took my shot at 3:00 and I'm usually peckish for a snack by 8:00. That day I had no desire. I took before and after photos (evening and first thing in the morning) and all inflammation in midsection was gone. I'm now a week and a half in and down 4.5lbs. (Gym 5-6 days a week, PPL/UL split with 15 min jump rope at the end)

As far as side effects go: my heart rate was up for the first week. Into the second week, things seem to have calmed down. The fatigue is crazy when I don't get enough carbs. I've started drinking warm prune juice in the evening to make sure my movements are regular (they are thank goodness) and despite my appetite being in the dirt the first week, second week I'm able to finish the meals I make for myself and even get proper hunger cues.

I also used to smoke tree very consistently. I've smoked since I've started but the desire to do so has dropped significantly. I have a very addictive personality and the things that used to trigger me just...don't anymore. I can focus on work, school, my training, and proper eating more effectively.

Best of luck to you!
