It was worth it for science. But yeah, abdomen (specifically the lower part, two inches to the left or right of and below the navel), the first time I ever injected, I had a long pause where I was like "Ok, I can see that the needle is in me, but I felt nothing. OMG, do I have nerve damage or something?"
This is why, Lower stomach nerve sensations are distinct from other body parts due to a reliance on the autonomic nervous system, resulting in sensations that are often diffuse, dull, and visceral rather than localized and sharp like skin sensations

My arm hurts like a BUGGER right now. Why tf did I decide to pin KLOW there for Science, of all things? This really does bring me back to the "is randompersonrandom just really bored or something?" suspicion.

Really? I never knew that. I was thinking there would have more nerves & pain?

I hope you're feeling much better today!! Do you normally have sensitivity behind your arms?

When I started compounded tirz the instructions gave you options and I naively assumed thigh would be least painful. Learned the hard way! Lol tummy is easiest and often don’t feel anything. I do all SQ there except anything with GHK-Cu.

Now for IM the thigh (outer third halfway above the knee - center of the quadriceps muscle) is awesome. Once you get over the urge to hyperventilate, hold your breath or pass out when plunging a 1” needle to the hilt, you realize you just feel pressure, not actual pain. There’s no residual soreness, totally unlike GLOW or KLOW SQ where my upper thigh is sore for 24 hours.

Still surprisingly sore. And I don't actually know; I've never had an injection there before. Zero chance I hit muscle, though; not with the little clip pinching the skin, a 5mm needle, and my arms not small enough yet that I don't have fat there. It just is not at ALL a good site for me to use, apparently.

Ever get a tattoo and it goes to the back of the arms? It'll make winch pretty good and clench the arms of the chair. That areas tender.

Im going to try the belly this week. My thigh looks worse now, its not that big a bruise but bigger than before & dark. That was the 10 & plan to do that again this week, so I need to choose a better area & not look like I was beat up, ha ha

I use lidocane, then ice, then wear headphones & relax to calming music thinking of something else while he does it for me, ha ha.

1" those look much more intimidating!! Ive read such great things about GLOW KLOW GHK-cu, but not ready for anything spicy yet!!

I hope its better today!! Did you get any bruising? Especially with the clip pinching. You were very brave!! 🙂

No thank you!! Yes, its my most tender spot. I do have some but not there, ha ha. Hopefully it was fast & your artist was skilled!!

I get a lot of bruises from bad quality needles. Only use Novofine or BD now.
Some people bruise easiser than others, I know, I do.
I can be a health condition.
4 mm is fine and is what comes with the Wegovy pens in the parcel from pharmacy, 5 and 6 mm are also fine, 8 can get to IM, if you are very ripped.

Maybe its just be or was a bad spot! 10u is not that much. I have always bruised easily.

I chose the 4mm since they're the smallest. Since those are available I would never bother w/ the 8mm, but unfortunately no I'm not ripped, ha ha 🙂

It's not about the amount, I think, but about accidentally hitting a capillary. I bruise like a peach, lol.

Are you using a pen? 4mm is pretty short if not. Might not be getting SubQ.
I use 8mm needles on my insulin syringes and never have an issue.
Are you low on iron?
I've seen 8mm suggested on another site to stop bruising and it seemed to have helped the person that had trouble with bruising. I was looking into it because my wife bruises easily and I was leaving marks on her with a syringe traumatizing us both. 😳 I was also going in at and angle and saw 90 degrees with a pinch was recommended by injection pen manufacturers.
I bought a good quality auto injector pen, EasyTouch 31g, 8mm needles and hit it straight on and we haven't had a problem since. /wipes the sweat off my brow... 😆

It is, thank you. No bruising, just sore as heck for a day after. And honestly, I blame Serena Williams. I'd never even thought to use the back of the arm til I saw her do it in a commercial, and was like "oh, maybe that's more comfortable." SERENA WILLIAMS LIED TO ME.

idk exactly what your referring to, but serena william’s husband is a pretty big investor in the ro company that she advertises for.

She did an injection in the back of her arm in a commercial, and did not immediately stop smiling and yell "ow fuck, that HURT!" I am betrayed.

Yes she did!! 😉

So happy that's over for you!! At least you tried it & know never again!!

And I'm sure her arms are all muscle. I don't know how that didn't hurt her!! Unless it was one of those fake needles that push in for props, lol

Dang. This sounds horrible. Am I the only one that likes needles? Tattoos...IM injections...getting blood drawn... poking myself with Chinese powders... I'm wondering if the hypermobility might be EDS? I know that I have "thick skin" as stated by every stick that has ever tried to give me an IV or take blood, so maybe I don't bruise because my skin is thick enough to seal after the injection and OP's skin maybe doesn't? It could literally be a skin thickness thing?

When you were little did you like/not mind them too? Everyone prob feels different pain/sensitivities? Or maybe you always were administered by those with great hands so your mind wasn't nervous? You're very lucky!! 🙂

Actually Ive been thinking that (I believe now there is only genetic type testing for it & nothing you can do anyway other than PT, be more careful, etc). No Dr ever talked about it but I do have all kinds of strange things. That hyper-mobility test I saw online 9 points measured test & I am 9 of 9.

😀 Actually, I think I just got used to it. If the stick isn't on their game, it usually takes them at least 6 times to get an IV started. The record was a PA that stuck me 15 times before the charge nurse saw what was going on and took over. It sounds like we're on opposite ends of the spectrum.

I might have missed it, but have you tried icing before your injection? Theoretically that would cause your blood vessels to restrict and might help with bruising and bleeding.

Wow 15 times? They must have been new!! Ouch!! And I have good veins so its not that, wow. I did find my fav place to get blood taken, but of course the guy is no longer there. He was Amazing!! Hes a huge tall muscular guy that was not friendly at all (until I went several times & brought out his nice side with compliments that were well deserved). Perfect example of looks can be deceiving, I thought he was going to be the worst & rough.

Yes I use lidocane, then ice, then lidocane again & more ice, ha ha. Then put on headphones w relaxing music & look away thinking of something else. After the bleeding & bruising with such a teeny tiny needle Im thinking it must be something else, ha ha.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! Went up to 12u today & lower belly & didn't feel anything (of course iced & lidocane 1st) but no blood, bruising & didn't feel anything. I appreciate you convincing me!! 🙂
