Reta and Low Carb equals Some Dizzy Spell?

But it is more than possible to have episodes like that just from unaccustomed hard physical work or exercise plus not many calories ( or enough fluids/electrolytes ).
I'm thinking that's pretty much it. It's been since last summer since I've done anything even close to that, but I'm impatient. I'm 66 (think I'm 40) now, so I write checks now, or get my oldest over to help/do it. Been totally fine since that one day.

At the risk of repeating some of the other points here, I would hazard a guess that its lack of calories thats to blame here - specifically carbs.

The first couple of weeks of reta were wild for me. I could almost eat nothing (1000 cals a day) and still be able to function and work out just fine. It was, naturally, impossible to maintain. Then came the learning curve - I need carbs/cals to be able to sustain my workouts. I was getting very similar symptoms to you in the gym and I later concluded it was lack of carbs.

Upped the carbs, upped the calories a bit and its far far better. Im really pushing the limits of my depleated glycogen stores but im almost at my lean-ness target.

I hope that helps!

This simple addition was a game changer for me. Many brands and flavors with and without caffeine.
I have taken any in a long time. Actually, last time was maybe a month ago shoveling landscape rock out in front of my pool cage doors to make room for the paver pads they're going to put in. It was 89* out that day. I mixed in a water bottle and it's in the garage fridge.

So, after Reddit was mentioned in another thread, I popped over. YIKES! Anyways, one had mentioned getting light headed and passing out, along with a few others. This got me thinking, as I've had like 2 of slight light headed deals in the last week, nothing major and goes away quick. Now, we've really cut back on the carbs, no pasta, bread, blah blah. I still have anywhere from 2-4 beers (carbs) a day. I was just at the docs office on 2/11 for my blood work tests. Everything was spot on, BP 125/70 and HR of 70bpm. Only other thing I can think of, is I busted my ass digging a footer for a 25' flagpole, and put in 6-60lb bags of concrete. The ground was hard as hell due to it not raining in forever here. It beat the shit out of me.
TL;DR Am I not getting enough carbs taking Reta?
We do NO CARBS and have zero issues.
I’ve had way less than 5 carbs a day, or less than 25 grams of carbs per week since 2021. Labs are excellent , zero issues, 59 yo male 6’/170# 13.5% bf.
Comfort is a slow death. 🫡🔥

That is cool, wow! I feel miserable on less than 25g. I might try again.

My hippie boyfriend has gotten me on the pasture raised chicken and bison and now I don’t like the taste of normal meat anymore. I’d love to do low carb with high quality meat. Yum!

If you eat, you're getting carbs. I just depends on how many. You need carbs for energy. You need to eat good ones.

We do a LOT of ground beef, but I also break down bulk Sirloins and reduce them to lots of steaks and a few smaller roast to pop into a slow cooker-
Side note- Our dog happily gets the best flipping table scraps in the world- ❤️
