That will be rough clinical trial for participants after the trial is over, they're no longer getting the med, and (in theory) they have to wait for it to be FDA approved.

But if they have been off alcohol for awhile won't the cravings be long gone?

When you're off Pop Tarts (please replace with the actual food that has represented a vice for you) for 6 months do those cravings remain gone?

Every recovering alcoholic I've talked to tells me that even after 10 years of sobriety, it's still a daily challenge for them on some level. Or they just say that to people because that claim has become part of their person. I don't know.
