Started Reta in October 2025, within two months climbed up to 8mg/week which is where I'm still at. I also take Tesamorelin+Ipamorelin.

Gym 4-5 times a week, weights primarily with some light cardio afterwards.
Great progress!
I read that a lot of folks thrive at 6-8mg of Reta. You have been at 8mg for almost 5 months.
Have you been able to maintain the same weight loss over the past 5 months, any plateaus, is it still working good, and do you plan to titrate up or stack something with it?
You are getting close to your GW.

Thanks!

Great questions - I've actually entered a plateau and the weight loss slowed down considerably for the past couple of months or so. What's really interesting to me is that even though the number on the scale stopped moving down so fast, this turns out to be a body recomposition period for me. Despite the plateau I've definitely lost fat all over, and I look like I've gained considerable amount of muscle. Veins popped out all over my body, and in general I look way more fit now than when the plateau started. People that see me often of course noticed the initial drop in weight back at the end of 2025, but have just recently also started commenting how "jacked" and "ripped" I look now.

I think Reta is still working just fine at this same dose, I have no desire to titrate up. I think I'm just gonna cruise at 8mg until my goal weight (I hope I've finally broken the plateau and started losing again.) I stack Tesa+Ipa with it.

I am not certain where I want to end up weight wise. It will likely be in the 130s but my real focus now is just getting stronger. I have been walking since day 1 and started incorporating resistance bands about halfway through. We are in the middle of building a house, like we are literally doing the work, and living in an outbuilding until it is done. We are also in the literal middle of nowhere. So that has made the muscle building part more difficult. But I know I am stronger than I was 9 months ago and that works until I can get a better workout situation.
Currently on about 12mg of tirz, 70mg of NAD+ daily, and 2.5mg of GHKcu daily. When I run out of NAD I don't plan to continue as I am not seeing any kind of effect. The GHKcu I just ordered a couple of kits, lol.

As of last week, currently on 10mg tirzepatide every 6 days, with 500mg of metformin daily, which is an improvement from 2000mg.

That’s great news! Especially considering how hard it usually is to get jacked while cutting. You’re defying the norm!

Honestly, that’s a great trade; not having to cut and then rebuild muscle later. Keep up the great work, you’re journey inspiring!

01/30/2026 217lbs, started Reta, 1mg (also taking BPC, TB, and GHK-Cu at this time). Reduced apatite. Not feeling much like doing too much.
02/13/2026 211lbs, Titration to 2mg after 2 weeks, more noticeable lack of apatite, nausea, some lethargy, increased protein, psyllium husk fiber and magnesium.
03/06/2026 200lbs, Increased to 3mg, feeling pretty nauseous, unwell, after a couple of days, decided to go back to 2mg for next time.
03/13/2026 195lbs, reduced to 2mg, hoping to straighten this out soon. Experiencing increase in mucous in back of throat, could be because of lawn maintenance or peptides. Wait and see.
03/20/26 198lbs, increased mucous, feeling like mucous is getting thicker, could still be from grass or pollen, sneezing my head off for a few weeks now.
03/27/26 195lbs, still at 2mg, considering ceasing Reta and other peptides to see if responsible for darkening mucous.
04/03/26 196lbs, ceased all peptides to find out what's causing the congestion in the throat
04/10/26 195lbs, no peptides taken, for about a week, symptoms seem to be abating, very slowely.
04/20/26 198lbs, Started back with BPC (known good peptide), no symptoms
04/23/26 199lbs, added TB peptide, no symptoms

Lost 22lbs after 8 weeks. Not sure if allergic to Reta, will try lower 1mg dose on 4/27/2026

I cannot know if the reaction was a allergy or some other side effect from reta, but it definitely sounds like you were pushing the dose increases too hard given the side effects you describe. Sounds more like hayfever/sinus infection, plus side effects. It is not clear from the description how hungry you were when you were increasing doses, but it sounds like you were not . If a dose makes you feel like crap in general it is a good reason to either stay at that dose and hope it settles down or decrease the dose, given you did not feel like doing much on 1mg I am not sure how hungry you were or why you increased the dose then. The second dose increase sounds like a plain bad idea given how you were feeling on 2mg. GLp-1 receptor activation causes reduced appetite but it also causes gastrointestinal side effects and can cause a central illness response, with malaise and not feeling like doing anything ( I had that from low doses of ozempic )
Sensitivity to adverse effects of GLP drugs is extremely variable, but usually relates to being sensitive to the effects on appetite as well, so low doses might suit you or at least very gradual increases, like 0.5mg every 1- 2 months rather than 1mg every 2-3 weeks. As far as I can tell you were down 22 lbs in 6 weeks so huge rate of weight loss for a low dose , perhaps a bit too fast to feel OK, so you do not seem to require a high dose at this point to lose weight. No idea how much weight you are trying to lose, but the average weight loss from 1mg of reta in a year is 9%, so low doses can work quite well, especially for those less severely overweight. You might even want to consider starting at 0.5mg for a month or 2 to see what happens and if it avoids the feeling like not doing anything.

Solid log. This is how you figure things out.

22 lbs in 8 weeks is strong. The symptoms seem to track with the higher Reta doses and eased off after stopping, while BPC and TB didn’t bring anything back.

Will be interesting to see how 1mg goes on 4/27.

P.S. I don’t know if you have allergies, but the first week of March wrecks a lot of people I know.

Best,

Best,
I've never had allergies this strong before, I know this is an unusual year since we had 95+temps in March, so I don't yet know for sure where to point the finger. Really hoping it's allergies, because I've read so many good things about what Reta does for the body, I don't really want to have to chuck it. Thanks for the compliments, really appreciated.

I didn't really know that they were side effects, we've had a very intense transition from winter to spring in the Antelope Valley, with 95+ degree temperatures. Plus I had let the grass go in the back yard, so I had spent 4 days mowing and weed whacking (not full days, just till the batteries from the whacker ran out), could it be a side effect, maybe, could it be allergies from the weather change, or lawn maintenance, maybe. That's why I'm going with a low dose test on the 27th. Now the other side effects I had read about were pretty par for the course for most people, and I went with the increases in a similar schedule to what I had read, starting at 1mg for 2 weeks, then up to 2 mg for two weeks, is the norm, but I waited for 3 weeks instead for the increase to 3mg, and most people had jumped to 4mg at that time, so not really pushing the increases from my perspective. Now I'm not really after the weight loss aspect, I'm not too far over weight, I'll be happy around 190 to 195, what intrigued me about Reta was that it pulled the fat out of the organs and out from around the organs (visceral fat). Seeing as I'm not someone with a severe weight problem, that may be a reason that I reacted as I did at 3mg, the more someone weighs, the higher the quantity of Reta they may need. This may or may not be the case, but it was something that I was not aware of going in. There could also have been a reaction to the BAC water (I had recently cracked a new bottle, and it's one that I bought in 2024, so that was also suspect (possible contamination?), though I've heard of them being stable for years without refrigeration), but since restarting the BPC and TB, it would seem that that is not an issue. Another factor with the weight loss could have been that I typically lose about 8-10 lbs when transitioning from winter to spring, it may not have all been from Reta. I was also focused on eating more meat and taking in fewer calories from carbs. I had done the carnivore diet for a year and sometimes I will just focus on meat for a while, randomly, which has an immediate effect on my weight. This is why it's so hard to just point the finger at one cause and effect, when there are so many variables. I also find it odd that it took over 2 months for an allergic reaction. It's possible that the rapid weight loss could have depleted me of some minerals, leading to the allergic reaction. With fat loss, it's important to supplement magnesium, something I learned from my time on the carnivore diet. It's possible that some deficiency took hold exacerbating the symptoms. So many things to weigh out. More will be known in the weeks following the 27. Thank you for your input, it helped me to go through a lot of the details that were swimming in my head.

If I had to guess on the available information the mucous type symptoms sound more like a low grade sinus infection with post nasal drip, maybe secondary to allergic rhinitis. The nausea and fatigue type symptoms could just be from that but are also fairly typical side effects of reta. But changes in season and diet can definitely mess with your immune system as well. I do see some evidence mainly on this forum that people who are not very overweight do seem to both respond to lower doses of reta more than I would expect and tend to get side effects from those low doses as well, more so than people who have a lot of weight to lose.

That’s a strong run; down nearly 30 lbs since December.

Sounds like your setup is working if you’re still trending down at 10mg + metformin. You’re getting into the range where things can slow, but your goal looks realistic from here.

Still dropping steady each week or starting to level off?

Thank you! I get down about it a lot and feel like I should have lost more but try to remind myself that it took from January to December 2025 just to go from 235-208 and how hard that was pre-tirzepatide. And it's still 6lbs ish a month on average.

I actually didn't lose any weight on 7.5mg for the 4 weeks I was on it, and hadn't lost any my last 2 weeks of 5mg and maybe prematurely decided to just go to 10mg. My endocrinologist is fully supportive of Mounjaro (and compounding, but we don't discuss the other stuff lol) and advised to try 10mg and said most of his other T2 diabetic patients didn't have a lot of loss until going up to 10mg. I don't know how for sure that is but I haven't had any negative side effects on any dose so I wasn't that worried about it (besides feeling like I failed the "low and slow" reddit method 🙄 )

This past week though has been great, appetite suppression is back to comfy levels, down 1.2lbs, and started a gym this weekend so I'm excited to see where it goes!

That’s an incredible journey! Seriously. From 419 down to 230, even with the ups and downs along the way, that’s a massive net win.

Holding 275 for that long after DS/BPD is no small thing, and bouncing back from regain to 230 with GLPs shows a lot of persistence. That kind of long-term fight is what really stands out here.

You’ve clearly figured out how to adapt through different phases/surgery, maintenance, regain, and now GLPs. How are you feeling at 230 compared to those earlier stages?

So, great news! You guys are gonna wanna sit down for this... I lost 19lbs in 5 months! I blame it all on reta and whey powder, and running. 6' tall 236lbs white male starting weight, now 217lbs.

Started on 1mg/3 days for the first month and just went to 2mg every 3 days. So I started at 2mg weekly and titrated to 4mg weekly. This dose feels super effective.

Nice work man! 19 lbs in 5 months is legit. Sounds like you’ve got a groove that’s actually working for you, especially with the running and dialing in your dose. That’s how you make it stick. I’m assuming there’s probably a lot of body recomposition happening.

And lol I’ll take that as a compliment! Guess I just know how to put a sentence together 😄

Went on AIP diet to manage RA. Lost 10 lbs. Screwed up the reintroduction phase and just could not manage the restrictions of that diet.
Tried to manage through diet/exercise: 10k steps, 30 min cardio daily, 3x weekly strength training, counted calories. Weight bounced from 212 to 217 for 6 months.
Feb 2026- started 2.5 mg Tirz
CW:197 lbs

Currently taking: 2.5 mg Tirz, 100 mg Glutathione
Thinking of increasing dose of Tirz but recently dealing with INTENSE fatigue. Is it Tirz or an RA flare?
Will start experimenting with SS31 and GHKCU/KPV May1

Since switching to grey my sweets and snacking craving has come back, which is odd, but that could just bee from a lower dose. I miss the days when I would lose weight and feel supression at the 2.5mg dose of tirz. Energy is good too, that's never been an issue but my Dr has me on testosterone so im sure that mitigates low energy.

At 1mg Reta, you’re still at a pretty low dose, so it’s not surprising you’re not seeing much movement yet. Some people don’t really respond until they titrate up.

If everything else (food, activity) has been consistent, I’d just call this a holding pattern not a setback. 😃
