Batch numbers are meaningless unless you have 3rd party regulators tracing back to the manufacturer in China. This is grey market, the use of batch numbers is a dishonest guise to trick people into feeling safe when in reality it's a marketing ploy.
I've decided not to take that route since I have no way to verify what was made in China is verifiably true to the batch they claim it is.
Take it 1 step further, typically the sellers in China aren't even the same people who've manufactured the product. So now we have 1 layer of separation from the manufacturer, 1 more layer from the Chinese seller to the vendor in the states... now 3 layers separated from you the consumer.
Add on top of this no independent regulator tracing back to the manufacturer's batch... meaning no truth anywhere along the way.
This is why public companies can't audit their own books, same concept.
