Reta and Caffeine

Does the increased RHR on Reta persist throughout usage or does it level off after a few weeks?

Lessthanhalf is always speaking my language when it comes to physiology.

For me Mounjaro and strict eating like keto affects electrolytes. Caffeine, also being a diuretic, hits me harder and had to cut my intake or I would get headaches. Proper hydration is key. I also noticed this with another stimulant for adhd. I always now drink electrolytes and water in the morning before coffee.

I have consumed the same amount of caffeine every day for years. I will drink a couple cups of coffee in the morning and then in the afternoon drink another source of caffeine. Ever since I started taking Reta the last couple of days in the afternoon, after consuming my caffeine, I have felt overly stimulated which is an uncomfortable feeling. I was wondering if anyone else experiences this?
I experience this with Tirz.

I drink yerba mate in the morning, first thing, before I have my breakfast. Been doing this for many years, Yerba contains mateine, which is the same compound as caffeine, just named differently.

I've been on Tirz for 8 weeks now, and for about 3-4 weeks I've been feeling anxious after my morning yerba, and I know that if that happens, I went too far with the dose.

I've cut it down by 1/3, but still have days when I feel it too much. I associate it with weight loss (stress on the body) and an extended period of reduced caloric intake.

Same. I have reduced my daily intake from 600 mg to just 2 cups of coffee and I haven't had the overstimulated feelings since. Also I wonder if just drinking coffee vs energy drinks have a different effect. 🤔

I don't use energy drinks anymore, but I would presume the same mechanism.

I introduced taurine yesterday (3g/day), which is supposed to calm the nervous system down and reduce anxiety, didn't feel anything like that today, but it's only the first day, we'll see.

I used to crush coffee and energy drinks and pre workout, but since starting reta i have not wanted or needed it at all. And if I do I a cup it hits me way harder, but the Cal deficit makes sense.

I don't feel jittery on my daily cup of coffee, but much like the others here, I consume far less caffeine than I used to. I was on at least 500mg caffeine a day in the form of coffee, tea, energy drinks, pepsi, and caffeine pills. Now I only drink one cup of coffee a day, which is quite a strong brew so I presume I'm getting around 200-250mg a day. The amount of money I save by not buying caffeinated drinks alone is probably in the hundreds per month.

Damn I wish I had this problem. Reta seems to give me less energy when weightlifting. Maybe I've adapted to it a bit over time, but I've had to get very disciplined about making sure I get carbs and preworkout before the gym. My theory is that the glucagon agonism just keeps my stored glucose so low that I have less available energy. I've had to keep my dose under 6mg/wk to feel normal. I've been taking reta for over a year and still can't get above that dose.
Are you still dropping weight at the 6mg?
