I’ve been on retatrutide for about 10 weeks, starting at 1 mg and now at 4 mg, and I wanted to share what appetite suppression actually feels like for me, because so many people talk about the lack of appetite suppression on Reta. I’m 5’10”, started at 226 lbs, and I’m now around 212 lbs, with most of the loss starting once I hit 2 mg.
Compared to the four feelings people usually describe, less food noise, blunted cravings, early fullness, and dampened food pleasure. only one really stands out for me: I feel full faster.
The “food noise” is still there; I still think about meals and snacks like I always did, and the pleasure of food hasn’t gone away at all. If anything, I still enjoy eating and get real satisfaction out of meals. I also still drink beer and enjoy it.
My cravings are reduced, but that’s more about feeling full sooner than losing interest in food. I eat smaller portions because I’m satisfied earlier, not because I’m detached from food.
For me, that early fullness is a really good thing: I’m still very much a food‑lover, and I don’t want to lose the joy of eating. Reta just helps me feel satisfied with less. I hope this helps some people understand the difference. Maybe, if I keep titrating up the other elements of appetite suppression will kick in but I’m very happy with the feeling I get now.
