🆒 RETATRUDING HAS BEGUN!! I finally pushed the plunger!🆒

So, I have now become a Millennial here too, as in the real world. It is as it ought to be. Hmmm.

I have spent the last ten days hesitating, procrastinating, deliberating, and wasting. Due to the shutdown/seizure, I couldn't bring myself to start using Reta. I only have 3 vials I got locally. Finally, my Fvck it gene kicked in, today I reconstituted and stabbed Reta in. I started with 1mg. I messed up using the filter so am sure the dose wasn't kosher, but screw it.YOLO.

Does anybody have any tips, apart from getting a will done? I am 253lbs now. I will of course put updates when they're worthy of mention.

Anyway, I'm officially a Retatrudite now. Let the games begin! 😈 😎 🆒
wait we need a filter?

Filtering is simple. What's it take, an extra 5 minutes max? 99% I mix two vials at once, me and wife. Literally no mess, and I purge the excess too. You use a couple of extra cheap ass luer lock syringes and a filter.

I saw many recommend it due to endotoxins. I was so knackered by my first time uusing the filter that I doubt I will bother again
Just a small correction, we filter for sterility issues. People have found hairs, ants, and who knows what in their vials. Filtering is cheap and helps mitigate risk. You can't filter out endotoxins, that is why more people are starting to test for them now. Testing and filtering are two things that keep as as safe as possible in the gray world.

Yep. All the GB (a bunch) I do, are doing Endo testing now too.

Protein - find a premade protein shake you like, that’s the quickest and most painless way to make impossible possible, my favorite premier protein found @ Costco, $32 for 18, includes 30g in a 160 calorie shake

Tracking - download Lose It on Apple or Android, another that might change your mind on “next to impossible”

The key to all the making impossible possible is control of hung which you will only achieve when you hit the right dose. Once you’re there, you’ll have the space to make all the behavioral changes.

4mg is the first I’ve felt this with Reta. You’ll get there ✊
+1 on LoseIt. Been using that app for like 5 years now. Some stuff is just impossible to accurately log without being able to weigh it, but I feel it gets the job done well most of the time. And yes, since finding some good protein shakes I’m hitting my 140-160g/day goal without much trouble.

+1 fo your +1 on need a $10 digital food scale, just used it to portion my home cooked meal prep, practice I only would have thought of thanks to Lose It.

Why? Tracking Metrics like I did on Lose It! made me want to find Healthy meal prep, which I outsourced for a long time, and now insourcing. Amazing the virtuous cycle that occurs when you have better data.

I used to track by rough guesstimating and sending myself an email on my blackberry … or by hand on a notepad .. so yea, it’s gotten orders of magnitude easier, even I can manage to do it daily

Sooooo... should I pay for another app?

My scales work great for meal prep, but I always get funny looks when I bring them to the restaurant and ask the waiter to place my meal on the scale.

Hahahah - I would never take the scale out the front door. Restaurants to me are like a black box, unless they’re a chain with nutrition info. I just guesstimate in those situations, or choose not to log that meal.

I have used MacroFactor for almost 3 years now. It’s worth every penny to me, but until you’re in the habit, use something free. Hell, use Google Docs even if it helps you get started to just write it down.

Also-I don’t drink shakes made from powder. I’ll add powder to premade shakes but premade shakes work better for me and are way easier to do on the fly.

My post op requirements required premade for the first 6 months because the premade ones were premeasured set portions and blended completely smooth without risk of any grain or bits. I haven’t made a shake from powder since. In only the last couple years I have added powder to a premade one in a blender with ice to make it more like icecream, but never as a shake.
