Another informative interview with Peter from Janoshik

Near the end of the interview, he says most of the no peptide samples ARE NOT coming from private researchers like us. He says its distributors sending in 50 samples at once as part of their search for new suppliers. He also points out that this skews the 1 in 20 data.

Really great interview . Thanks for sharing.

It’s interesting to have this information about the 4-5% defect rate for the announced molecule. This reflects the importance of the reliability of the source, the retailer. There are scammers out there, but luckily there's glp1forum ;-)

What he says, and doesn't say, about purity measurements is interesting too. I understand that he has a marketing reason for displaying a pseudo-precision of 4 digits (I've seen 5 digits on recent COAs). I think that if Janoshik announced, “There is a 95% probability that the purity is between 99.2% and 100.2%” instead of 99.712%, they'd have to hire a whole team of customer support people to deal with all the “I don’t get it!” comments.

What I would have liked to hear him say is how many batches are actually in circulation. I have identified 6 factories manufacturing solid-phase peptides in China. There might be a few more, but I think we'll end up with somewhere between 10 and 20. And they’re far from producing a batch every day (some sellers still have batches from a year ago). With all the resellers and customers testing the products, I’d bet that each batch is tested dozens or even hundreds of times. After all, he has a business to grow, and the source factories would rather not be identified by batch numbers. The whole system works well this way; I hope we can keep it up for a few more years.

This was an interesting interview an d you can really see his fingerprints on all the grey markets..

the TLDR

We cover:
🔬 What Janoshik actually does
– World's largest commercial analytical chemistry lab for hormones and peptides– Over 20,000 sq ft, 40+ employees, now receiving 1,000+ samples per day
– Started organically from a dorm room at 16 years old no marketing, no investors– Grown 50% in the last three months alone
⚠️ What's actually in your peptides
– Roughly 1 in 20 samples is either the wrong compound or so underdosed it's useless– Recent surge of completely empty vials no active compound whatsoever
– Affects all peptides: BPC, GHK, Sema, Reta, and more
– Empty vials coming mostly from distributors vetting new suppliers most never reach consumers
– "Bioglutide" a completely made-up molecule still being sold and always tests as something else📊 What actually matters when testing
– Identity and dose: by far the most valuable tests you can run
– Heavy metals: virtually never an issue in peptides don't fall for scare tactics
– Endotoxins: previously considered unnecessary, but recent contaminated batches causing local reactions have changed that view
– 100% purity is physically impossible anyone claiming it is using questionable methodology
– Pharma standard for HGH is 89% purity market standard runs 92–96%
💉 The HGH reality
– HGH is 191 amino acids far more complex and harder to keep pure than short-chain peptides
– Tested over 99% pure HGH exists but is extremely rare
– Fancy branded ampoules (like Bayer Primobolan) test as pure oil over 90% of the time the counterfeiting is near-perfect

🌍 Where the business comes from
– ~2/3 of revenue from the US biggest consumer market and peptide culture
– ~20% from China manufacturers using Janoshik to verify their own products
– 60,000+ individual US clients vs. ~50 massive Chinese manufacturers🧪 Why you can't test peptides legally in the US
– HGH and many peptides are scheduled substances DEA license required
– Labs operating without proper licensing are legally liable
– GLP-1s are currently testable in the US, but most small US labs still get it wrong
💡 Real talk
– Testing revolutionized the steroid market within 5 years the same is happening with peptides now
– Companies that test consistently produce better products it's cheaper long-term than rebranding after failures
– Pay a little more for companies that actually test their batches it's worth it
🧪 This isn't theory this is real-world experience working with hundreds of people and seeing what actually works.

Towards the end he said 50% growth in his business volume in the last 3 months?! Wow. I'm sure there's more involved than just this, but I wonder if part of that was the BPI/ProRX shutdowns, the timeline is correct. Enough people scared of losing access and turning to gray?

Also he said MOST of his biz is from the US, he did discuss some meds he can't legally test in the US, but he can test others here, like GLPs. Would think they'd be interested in moving some of their operation stateside.

Thank you very much!

This could also be distributors vetting Janoshik himself - put an empty vial or two in the batch just to make sure he catches it.
I would not rule out the possibility, however, as Jano is the standard for refunds and industry wide standard, I would say the likelihood is minimal.
