I'm a male 44 192 and today 137.3 kg
And live in Europe, Belgium, Antwerp

My current poison off choice is mounjaro 2.5mcg
I will start first jab tomorrow (Friday night)

I have started with mounjaro as my doctor prescribe it to fight my morbid obesity.

After extensive research I feel that in the future Reta would be a better choice(liver reset/visceral fat ).

But I want to go through the first few weeks on triz.

But for now this is my weekly checking page

Weekly Weight update

BMI: 36.8
86.7 kg muscle
46 kg fat
Water weight 62.2kg

Visceral fat score 6.4/20

------questions and worries---

My current weight and the recovering injury (shoulder issue)makes resistance training a challenge.
I want to slowly building it up, after a few kg fat loss.

How to battle the old "habits" around food. Not feeling hunger helps a bit. But hunger is not the only driver to stuff myself.

My best advice is to start your Mounjaro protocol. You will feel the effects even on the starting dose for 4 weeks and most certainly on the 5mg of the next pen.

For food noise, Tirzepatide is the best in my opinion. It also has inflammation benefits.

Once you are ready you can transit into grey and start your exploration of other possibilities. Even if you just stay on Tirzepatide after that, its over 10 times cheaper grey than in an EL pen from the pharmacy.

Unrelated, I lived in Belgium. It is the best. Also Belgians are my favorite. And not just because they aren't the Dutch 😂😂😂😂
euh... thanks i guess...
alltrough i believe belgians and dutch ppl are each others brothers / sisters.
the things that sets us apart, is less important then that what holds us together.

Little update: I did not start on Friday as planned. My mindset was not ready, and when I was ready... I noticed that I did not have any needles... I did not look at the package when I bought these, and expected the pharmacy to at least tell me this if it was needed... Not so.. I'll start on Wednesday I guess... needles and alcohol wipes arrive today/tomorrow...

Questions: I've read about the sulfur burps and graveyard farts (flatulence).
But, is there any foods that could reduce these side effects? Or avoid altogether? I'm looking for specific ingredients (garlic, cheese, bread...) as I do understand that highly processed foods are bad for you (pizza, McDonald's...)

How exciting for you to be starting a healthy lifestyle choice for yourself! Congrats!....

Couple of things, try not to overthink it too much. Thoughtful planning is good, undue worry isn't necessary...The first week or two is usually the worst for symptoms...keep plenty of Tums on hand, drink plenty of water, and I would stick to more bland foods. Highly seasoned or spicy foods and burping/acid reflux isn't a good pairing. That phase will mostly pass and get way better. Be patient and don't get discouraged 👍 ...

As far as worrying about "old habits", you may be surprised to find that not only does reduced hunger, aka 'food noise' goes down, but your "old habits" DESIRE for food goes down...there are a lot of foods I used to pig out on that don't have the same appeal to me...sure, I'll eat a slice of pizza or two if it is offered, but I not really interested in ordering one. Same with lots of other foods. I'll pick up some chicken or pork chops from the store and cook one of those, add a little vegetables, and I am good. Not because I have to, but that's what appeals to me now....I'll go out to restaurants with family and typically get a salad of some sort with grilled chicken and it all seems so normal, and is enough...

I say all the above as words of encouragement. This isn't like you are going to food prison...its just a real change in your relationship and desire for food...and of course every ones experience is different...what happens/happened to me won't be the same kind of journey for you. My hope and belief is that in a few months you will look back and say, "why didn't I start this sooner". I know I did and others here have said the same thing...GL and keep adding to your post!...😎

Thx for the responce

i was just looking into releaving my household members of my sideaffects...
if i could exclude some ingridients i could releave them noses a little .. LOL..

For Any change in lifestyle or habbits i need to be mentally ready.

i would love to empty all junk out of our cupboards, but my partner will rather trow me out of the house.... if i'm ready, got a scale and fitness tracker ready. eaten the things i wanted to enjoy fully. and a empty fridge to be filled with light meals( and some comfort food for the misses)

I'm sure my partner wil join me on the same journey if/when she sees results. But she is stil a sceptic on this. and keep pointing out issues (side effects, increased chance for thyroid cancer, potentional rebound when stopping GPL's)

For that rebound comment she gives. most of this is because of going back to old habbits. i know this. But is i could extend the foodnoices for a few years past Goalweight. those habbits would be more set in stone. (that and end lifecycle of fat cells, the body needs to accept the new weight as normal) not sure how this works as Obeisity is more then a body state. (chronic decease pattern)

Bienvenue! My first shot of tirz was a revelation - the lack of food noise felt like I’d been possessed my whole life and the suddenly I was exorcised. I think you’ll find it really takes the drive to eat junk away. I think you’ll really like it!

sure, I'll eat a slice of pizza or two if it is offered, but I not really interested in ordering one.
THIS!!! I’m a New Yorker, home of the best pizza in the world (yes this is a cross I will die on) and for the majority of my life, not a week went by without getting pizza. I haven’t had pizza in FOUR MONTHS. What?!?

Since you are just starting your peptide journey, I’d advise to stick with tirzepatide for a little while before considering/switching to reta, not so much for the properties of the medication, but because the world of the gray market has a learning curve: vendor selection, crypto and reconstitution math are just the tip of the iceberg. I’m 5-6 weeks into entering gray, and almost every day I learn something new that makes me stop, pause, and reconsider a plan (like I was going to reconstitute NAD+ the other day, but after more reading realized I want to get BAC NaCL vs regular BAC for reconstituting, and also pen needles with a larger gauge).

FYI, all side effects aren’t universal. Like others have said, don’t overthink too much. I’ve never gotten burps, farts or fatigue, but I have gotten some mighty acid reflux when I titrate up.

Antwerp is awesome, and on my weekly treat day, I always order from a great Belgian cafe! Best of luck and loss in your journey!

Please stop, this reminds me that it's been seven years since I've enjoyed a Rodenbach or eaten a real Liège waffle.

Bad news: you'll have to forget about all that (crap) food. Good news: you'll appreciate a plate of good fries much more once a year, and you'll be surprised that you can't finish a Whopper or a Steakhouse burger (also once a year, since you won't want to do it again after the stomach trouble that comes with it). You'll also save money on food.

I recommend learning some basics of nutrition. Your doctor can refer you to a qualified professional. There are also some excellent books on the subject. Just avoid extreme or trendy diets; you shouldn't follow them without professional guidance. The books written by doctors at the Mayo Clinic are very educational and include smart tips for estimating portion sizes.

Having been to Anvers a couple of times, I know from experience that there's some good, healthy food there. Mussels are pretty healthy and full of protein 😉

Now I buy my Embecta needles from an online pharmacy in Kontich. Great price. Because of my prescription for Mounjaro, I can only get reimbursed once every 8 years.

Over the course of 6 months on Mounjaro, one month at 2.5 mg, then 5 mg, my weight stabilized just a little at a BMI of 31–31.5, but my glycemia levels remained chaotic.

Then, three months ago, I switched to Tirz from Shanghai, followed by Reta. I’m now on 10 mg/week of each. Results: BMI at 27; HbA1c dropped from 10.5 to 6.5. I’ve had fries once, sautéed potatoes once, and half a glass of red wine since the start of the year, and frankly, I don’t miss them at all.

Cant blame me for getting some personal experiences with food.
i was planning to keep to clean(what actually clean these days?) foods

Fish, all kinds of meat and some, equal or more of the greens.
trying to make sure i get all nutrients in.

Only thing i'm looking against is trying to consume 130gr proteine daily ( for protecting muscles) eggs, milk, proteine shake (without sugar and low cal), beans and meats/fish.
Especially when you don't feel hunger ....

i'm not worring that much, just trying to get informed and boil out what i feel i can handle.

for my journey, my plan (lets see how easy this going to be) is to not go cold turkey on calorie intake. trying to slightly reduce it to a lvl that is doable.

but you know, "No plan survives contact with the enemy" so i'll see adapt and learn along the way. And you guys to light the way where i find darkspots.
