I came across a TikTok person who started a Facebook buy group. I went to go find that Facebook buy group, and the TikTokers said that the group was banned by Facebook and that now they had a Discord that you could join. I joined the Discord, and I posted an introduction. In my introduction, I mentioned this website GLP1forum.com to say that I had been doing a lot of research here. The person who started the Discord and has the TikTok channel asked me to delete the URL. This was kind of curious because I wasn't mentioning any vendor, and the only rules in the group were that you couldn't mention other vendors. But it didn't say anything about mentioning a website where one could do research. This to me was red flag number one. Red flag number two is that this person publishes a price list and in the first column they have a "gray vendor" as a vendor. Then it has all of these other companies on the list that aren't necessarily the companies that I see in these forums being recommended, not any overseas vendors, only American peptide vendors. In the Discord, they have a section where you can do group buy testing and I just went in there to add a note because I'm neurospicy and I will quite often research the shit out of something before I make a decision. And so the nearest I could tell there were a lot of confused people posting in there. It seemed very disorganized and I don't think anyone other than the person who started the group really knew anything about what the purpose of group testing is or group buying or anything like that. So I posted some guidelines about group buying/testing. The power of a group is to negotiate with a vendor to get a lower price based on volume. Number two: that in those negotiations you can get the vendor to test particular batches that they are selling. Number three: the group can usually negotiate full replacement if the negotiated terms are not met (e.g. underfilling, purity is lower than 99%, heavy metals are present, or endotoxins). And I did mention that not everyone tests for those things. But anybody who is interested in that group buying power can negotiate those things up front.
I then asked how the list of vendors was vetted and whether or not people in the group buying even knew who the vendor was, or if it was only the person who started the Discord channel/banned Facebook group who knew the identity of the vendor. She said that several groups are now doing this where there's one representative who has a relationship with the vendor and in order to protect that vendor they don't reveal the vendor's identity. It's a go-between. She also said that that vendor in particular does not have lab testing at this time, but at the same time she said that she's been working with this vendor for 15 years, or that the vendor has been in business doing this type of thing for 15 years. I'm assuming she meant all the other peptides that they offer, which are like the glow, nad+ etc. because there's no possible way obviously that that vendor has been doing GLP-1 for 15 years.
The other thing she said is that many groups are doing this now where the people in the group are unaware of the vendor and that just seems like super red flaggy to me. That doesn't make sense to me in that the purpose of a group is that everyone in the group who's decided to group together knows who the vendor is and then they negotiate openly with that vendor. It's not like that information is being kept from other group members. Am I crazy? Is that the way it is? Because that seems completely bogus to me. The fact that she did not want me listing this forum in that group tells me that she probably has some relationship with said vendor. She doesn't want people to know who it is. She's probably getting some sort of kickback or free peptides or something. Like something that benefits her. So she is safeguarding the identity of the overseas vendor because the other thing she said in another section of the Discord channel was that there are anywhere between 9-21 days of lead time for shipping, so that tells me it is coming from overseas most likely China. And she just doesn't want the people who have been bamboozled into joining this Discord group, who literally just from their comments alone, have no idea what a group test is, why they're testing, or even that you shouldn't necessarily rely on a single test for a vendor but that the test applies to that batch run only and that if somebody else gets from that vendor a different batch than a new test has to be run. She does not share any of this information in that group and I see it as a red flag and it makes me want to like totally record a Tik Tok outing her and saying "Look if you guys are following this woman do not do it." Am I crazy? Or just not informed. To be fair, I have not been in a group yet, but I would NEVER join any group where every member of the group was not privy to every part of the negotiation process.
