So I have been on Zepbound since February 2024 and I have met my goal weight. My physician has reduced me back to 10MG.

Since I started the Zepbound last year I have had the normal side effects, but I also got to experience itching all over my body. I was even taken to the hospital and they couldn't figure out why I was so itchy. They insisted it was NOT the Zepbound medication. I've also gone to the allergist and they informed me that yes I am allergic to it and she said I could stay on it as long as I take Zyrtec and she gave me Montelukast and Pepcid AC. It helps me a lot, but when I take an injection I feel the itching more for the first and 2nd day.

Has anyone else experienced that while taking the medication?

You could try ARA-290 for the itching if it’s related your blood sugar or some form of neuropathy, otherwise I think switching is good advice to try. Semaglutide is super cheap from China. Probably cheaper than a supply of name brand Zyrtec for the same time period that a kit will last.

There was some clinical trial data showing that a certain percentage of people did develop allergic reactions to tirzepatide. My recollection that it didn't reach a severity that caused anything like anaphylaxis, but that it did cause some people to discontinue use. At the same time it apparently wasn't a big enough concern to result in a black box warning or even a mention of it as a possible side-effect.

It may be worth trying different antihistamines to see if there's one that does a better job than others to reduce the itching, or potentially trying sema if all else fails.

This is not medical advice as such, please discuss this with your doctor.
I had a weird rash that might have been a drug reaction so I spent a lot of time looking up skin rashes from glp drugs. There are lots of possible rare skin reactions including some serious ones, but given you have had this for a while it is not likely to get significantly worse or go away. But given that you are having a systemic allergic reaction to it , an anaphylactic reaction to it in the future is more likely than usual.

In general if you are having to take an extra medication to reduce the adverse effects of a medication it would make more sense to change it to something you are not allergic to. I am a bit surprised your doctor would not have suggested this. I would expect very few clinicians would be comfortable with someone continuing to take a medication they were allergic to unless there were no alternatives.

Cross reactions to other glp drugs are very rare, so it is very unlikely to be an issue with a different one, so either semaglutide or retatrutide, retatrudide might be better if you are trying to maintain a very large weight loss, semaglutide is very cheap if you are buying it from china.

I wouldn't advise continuing use. The immune system gets edgy and can start reacting to more and more things when its being triggered. One year I went to the ER a couple of times in beginning stage of anaphylaxis, due to fish histamine allergy. then had Hives all over from an HGH supplement. One thing after another. I had to carry around an Epi pen.
Some of those allergy meds are detrimental to brain health.
