How much did you loose your 1st week when starting? Did you start on the rec 2.5 or lower?

Was this your highest weight loss, or?

Was my 1st week, started at 1mg (just in case bc Im sensitive), think I lose almost 2lbs (tomorrow will be a week) but also ended up TOM & got the flu w the rest of my family.

Did notice my normal body aches & pain in feet when waking up was so much better (as in 80% better) even with being sick. Hope that continues!

Of course everyone is difference but getting an idea of how everyones experience has been 🙂

I don't recall the exact amount but I think it was like 5 lbs the first week. That was great for my motivation but it really doesn't have any value as a metric. Everyone's journey is different. I was at my heaviest and eating very poorly when I started. I completely changed my diet, started tracking food, and started exercising at the same time. I see the medicine as an extra tool, but I'm doing the work to improve my health overall. I made incremental changes to my exercise program so I didn't burn out and give up.

I started at 2.5mg per week and stayed at 2.5 for several months with steady weight loss. I have increased my dosage over the last several months as my weight loss stalled, but still pretty low dose. I responded well to the medicine, other have different experiences. There are so many factors. The great news is my clothes fit better and I feel better each month. I'd still like to have a lower BF%, but I could be happy where I am today. Long term I have lost 55 lbs in about 14 months. Just under 1lb per week average. Some weeks I've gained, some i've been flat, but the trend was generally down.

Make the changes and be patient with yourself.

Congratulations on starting! Tirzepatide is an amazing medication for so many people.

I don't remember how much I lost the first week and didn't keep detailed records, but a lot of people report losing a good amount of weight the first week, probably water weight, inflammation, or something...

I started at the recommended 2.5mg and titrated up pretty quickly. Again, didn't keep good records, but probably titrated up every 8 weeks or so. But, I experienced mild side effects (mostly constipation) so I was able to titrate up without much concern.

I would say that the conventional wisdom nowadays is to titrate up if hunger/food noise returns or if your weight loss stalls, as long as your tolerating the medication.

Congratulations again on starting and getting the first week under your belt and hope you feel better!

I lost five pounds the first week. I'm pretty sure almost none of it was fat; it was a combination of placebo effect and a dose of 2.2mg tirz that stopped me cold from overeating. Since I had previously been overeating (and dealing with the water retention that comes with eating too much, too high carb, and too much salt), it was five pounds of mostly-water-weight that just fell off me.

Weight loss in the first week of the rest of your life doesn't matter.

I dropped 6lb in the first week, 10lb total on Tirz in the 29 days before I switched to Reta, 19lb in the 45 days I've been on Reta, for a total of 29lb in 73 days.

The 3lb bump in early Feb is expected to be transient water weight from starting TRT.

Did you feel different on either one? Was your diet the same for both?

I eat whatever on either, I do make sure I get carbs on Reta.

Feels wise… Tirz slowed the lower gi track more, which I enjoyed. I started exercising a week before I switched to Reta, started TRT 9 days after the switch… too many variables to meaningfully compare.

What mg are you on?

Hey --- great news. You're on the road to losing some weight!

I know the first week at 2.5 mg I was pretty excited to see things happen but I figured just keep on plugging away and weigh myself after 2 or 3 weeks at that level. Even now I don't remember it being super dramatic amount like a few pounds but a few pounds every week adds up pretty quickly. I only did 2.5mg for one month and then moved to 5mg for a month etc mostly because I was worried they'd cut off my compounding pharmacy supply and I wanted to get in as much progress as I could before that happened. It was pretty stupid. I should have stayed on a dosage until I started to get the hunger noise back, then move up. All said - I lost a little over 50# in 7 months and that's about where I am today. I did no real diet changes except to respond to my lack of appetite by not eating ... I should also have heeded the concerns about muscle loss and been more vigilante about doing regular exercise to better maintain it.

Thats my first month on 2.5mg 16,09 lbs

I started on 3mg dose, chosen because of the easy math for a 60mg vial and 3ml water. Up to 6 after the first month, currently at 7.5.

I lost 6 lbs the first "week" (6 day intervals between shots and weigh-ins for me). roughly 3lbs a week every week thereafter. Did stall out once or twice, seems to happen whenever I drink a couple of those Premier protein shakes made with milk. Guessing a dairy interaction. I am lactose intolerant.

I say "week", but I chose to do my shots on 6 day intervals based on reading here.

The biggest benefits have been more than just weight loss. I was taking 3 BP meds, I had to cut out 2 of them due to too low BP and dizzy spells when standing. Less joint pain (knees, ankles), but I do have skin sensitivity; almost feels like my hair follicles are unusually sensitive?

I'd love to se a Dr about the BP meds, but I'm offshore for months at a time, and there are no Dr's out here.
