A pen is obviously the most sanitary way to do my tirzepatide; since I ought to be filtering them anyway, why not filter into a cartridge, install it in a pen, and use it that way so that no air ever gets into the "vial" in the course of using up the med; and I don't have to keep piercing the vial every time.

A pen is so obviously a horribly unsanitary way to do my tirzepatide, which will surely become contaminated from backflow and I'm just fooling myself about it keeping a vial fresher for longer.

I have googled for days, watched videos, even got on TikTok (I did NOT like that, I am too old for all that), read many discussions, and discussed it extensively with ChatGPT, because "a machine confidently lying to me" is somehow acceptable to me.

I have bought all of the other supplies; I have enough of everything to last me years. If nuclear war happened, I'd be a frightened savage scavenging in the wilderness but by God I'd be a THIN frightened savage (assuming my freezer still works.) Now I am bored and I want the dopamine hit of buying a pen and feeling happy about how sanitary it will make it when I inject Chinese mystery powder I bought from someone who called me "Dear."

But, like...which is it? Is it more sanitary, or less sanitary?

This just in: the exact conversation I needed to either have or read someone else having just spontaneously arose in the thread about people's experience with SSA. 😂 So I guess we're good!

peptide testers did a couple of you tube videos on sanitary recon and filtering.

THANK you, I'll go check that out! The reason I'm super interested is because I've got T-30's on a 2.5 mg dose, and IF I can make them last the whole twelve weeks, then I'm pretty much done buying tirz, for years. Maybe that's fine with or without extra steps (filtering, pen), maybe that's too dangerous even with the most care and caution. I haven't figured out where I fall on that spectrum, in terms of my own comfort level.

Thank goodness. Now you can free your budget to buy the peptide-of-the-day, the group-buy-of-the-day, a dozen NovoPen 6 pens, and customized, 3D-printed storage solutions, haha.

I have no idea but can I be your tent neighbor in the apolocypse? I too will have my hoards of peps/supplies, and my treasured water bottle. And likely little else... we can share a freezer.

I recently started using Pen's. When you pin different peps daily, you generate much medical waste. With the pen, is now minimal. I can put 5-10 doses in a cartridge. Do more poking the vial each day. I like the fact there is no air in the cartridge. Studies show 'dirty' air from the environment, is a contributing factor to bacteria growth in a vial.

Once you try a pen, you will realize there is no backflow. If you remove the pen quickly, you will see a drop or two of your pep leak out, because the cartridge is under pressure, as the plunger is pushing the liquid out. To avoid getting a short dose, you are instructed (by Eli Lilly) to wait a few seconds for the pressure to drop off and to ensure you got your full dose, and then remove the pen. Pen more sterile/sanitary imo.
