Welcome to the forum! Paying with Crypto is a frequent topic here.
Probably best to review recent threads detailing people's experiences, questions, and suggestions.
You can start by typing Crypto in the search bar up on the right. Also go to the Crypto Corner under the Forums tab.
By getting a good overview you can then ask more specific questions once you've narrowed some down.
Happy searching 🙂

The first time is scary. Take your time, read up, get all the software and accounts in place. Get all the money and crypto ready before considering buying. After the first time it becomes really easy.

hoping this is the case, sorted coinbase next step is exodus wallet. Think when im ready just gonna ship over very small amount to ensure it goes through to vendor before actually placing my main order. hoping once its done once then the rest just becomes the norm lol

If you opt to use BTC, you are never on the wrong network🙂

The discord for the vendor I chose had a great instructional post for how to do it. So your vendor may as well. But the most important thing to know is 1) what forms of crypto do they accept? 2) Apparently stable coins like USDC and USDT are better if you can use them because you won't have fluctuations from when you put them in your wallet to when you go to spend them. 3) I used USDC on the ethereum network so I needed a small amount of ETH to cover the fee of using that network. Like a couple of dollars was plenty. 4) Do a test run before sending the full amount. Don't take the chance of transferring to the wrong place. Oh, and 5) The suggestion on my vendor's discord was to use Robinhood to purchase the coins. And to set up the account with your bank account but purchase with your debit card to avoid delays in being able to transfer it out to the wallet.
I don't know a ton but following the steps laid out to me made it pretty easy and it went seemlessly.

Sadly from personal experience, If you are sending USDT note that the Ethereum and Chronos networks use the same address format and you can easily send over the wrong network and lose your money. I was in a hurry and accidentally used Chronos once instead of ERC20 (Ethereum). It wasn't a lot of money and I wasn't able to recover it. Just pay attention to all of the details.

My unsolicited advice: pick one method that most will accept. I use USDC on Ethereum network (USDC ERC) and have no chance of sending on wrong network.

I’ve only encountered one vendor who insisted on USDT. Said thanks but no thanks and found another.

Just a quick note to let you know you're not alone in the minefield! Im currently waiting for Coinbase to give me a send button so I can send my USDC to Phantom on the Solana network. This is alien language to me but im speaking it.. I think.

I got educated on crypto payments and how to buy via Coinbase, then transfer my BTC to Exodus wallet....But, I pick a vendor to buy from based on whether I can use Alipay with them or not. It's damn easy to use! But, I can strut around and brag that I can do both. (Ask one of the AI models to explain it to you like you're 4 years old.) Worked like a charm for me.

I'm waiting the 4 days for my bank to clear the purchase of Solana on Coinbase, could the 4 days been averted by using a debit card versus tying an account to it?

I Decided against it and found a supplier that i could pay via Ali Pay. Didnt know enough about crypto to get that sorted lol
