I fasted years ago and liked the effects and mental clarity. Haven’t tried in years but I think this weekend I’ll give it a shot. Anyone here fast on a glp1?

With the slow gastric emptying one will have to be especially careful not to gorge when ending the fast.

Yes. Much easier on a GLP.

Enjoying the benefits, where do I even start with how good fasting is for you..

I do from 24 hours minimum (what I count as a real fast) 2/3 times a week and thoroughly enjoy my time. Can go up to 48 and higher if I feel I would benefit.

Other than that, on all other days I do OMAD, which I suppose some folk would consider fasting.

I've fasted pre-glp, but I'd be afraid to do it now because it's all I can do to stay fed enough to fuel my activity level. I've learned the hard way about under-eating and just running out of gas, completely, mid way through a very active day. Funny that when I was fasting before, that was never an issue, I could go days no problem. Not sure what mechanism changed actually, but it did.

Been fasting for 15 yrs, (never eat before 12 noon and eat 1-2 x a day) and yes GLP type peps make it easy though for me I am so used to fasting I never get truee hunger

Hmm, by this definition I guess me too? I'm a very early riser, eat breakfast and lunch and I'm done for the day.

I did intermittent fasting the entire time I was striving for goal.
8/16
I now drink black coffee in the AM even though I'm not fasting anymore.
Tirz made it easy to go from 8pm-12pm fasted and I think it helped overall for me.

I had to have my coffee with cream after lunch so I started having coffee with added vanilla protein shake, was great! still do that as well.

No experience yet with a water fast on GLP-1s, but I do a daily 4-6 hour eating window most days and it’s fine. I’ve been doing intermittent fasting about 10 years, more for schedule convenience than weight loss (cuz obviously it didn’t work for me to lose weight LOL!)

I would actually think breaking the fast would be easier to manage overeating on GLP-1s; sometimes I get crazy hungry if I didn’t eat much the day prior, but then after eating 400-600 cal I’m satisfied. Let us know how it goes, and good luck!

Doing it daily from 05:00AM until 12:00PM since 3 weeks ago. Actually it starts at my bed time. Take it as from 10:00PM to 12:00PM.

Crazy thing is I used to fast 24-48 hrs weekly for half a year then when I did GLPs it was harder for me to fast but when I eat I get full faster but I would have to eat at least twice a day. I think its the glucagon.

I kept fasting for over a year because fasting was the only way that I could prevent myself from gaining too fast. On glp…after a period of maintenance..I slowly started to add small things in the am after about a year or so and I didn’t gain.

I’ve never been much of a breakfast eater anyways so keeping with fasting wasn’t a big deal. Prior to glp I was so strict that I would not even have coffee with a little creamer before my fasting window was up.

Now I find that I eat when I want. I drink coffee with some calories added almost daily or have something high protein like eggs if I’m hungry. I avoid large morning/noon meals because I like to have an appetite for dinner.

When I’m on vacation I will have pancakes and stuff for one breakfast day but usually that’s it because if I eat a big breakfast I lose my appetite for dinner and waste money.

Either way…I just don’t stress about making sure I’m going into ketosis anymore. If I wake up starving then I eat.

When I did keep up fasting during my early days of glp…it made fasting so easy for me. It was great. I didn’t feel like my blood glucose was low or anything like that.

My 2 cents

I fast, but not intentionally.
On Tirz I have to force myself to eat. Because I have a malabsorption component due to previous bariatric surgery if I fast too much, I run the real risk of not getting the nutrients I need to sustain me through the day...but yeah, fasting has become way too easy for me, just leaves me feeling drained.

I fast. Every day. I fast at least 16 hours a day usually around 18. I eat mostly protein and complex carbs. If I wasn’t eating high protein it would be super difficult to get my calories and macros in on the window I eat in. It’s very difficult. I’ve been fasting off and on since 2016. So putting together everything I’ve learned and now the GLPs has made this a cake walk. You just have to throw mud at the wall and see what sticks. The biggest indicator of success is the blood work. I just did my first big blood work consisting of a 9 vial blood draw. No rock will be unturned. I should have the results soon.
