In my newbie days I only used 31G insulin needles to recon, never had a problem at all with the Hospira BAC or the reconned tirz.I got some 27ga slip/luer lock but they’re a real drag to pull BAC through. They’re larger than the 31ga insulin needles so all I can think is that they’re too long maybe?
I suspect it’s the length but I’m not sure. It draws the BAC in one drop at a time (I inject air before drawing)In my newbie days I only used 31G insulin needles to recon, never had a problem at all with the Hospira BAC or the reconned tirz.
Maybe try a different brand needle.
Is your needle fully locked in place? Is your BAC at room temperature? Is the needle fully in, past the stopper?I got some 27ga slip/luer lock but they’re a real drag to pull BAC through. They’re larger than the 31ga insulin needles so all I can think is that they’re too long maybe?
Yes. The needle is 1/4” from the bottom of the bac containerIs your needle fully locked in place? Is your BAC at room temperature? Is the needle fully in, past the stopper?
If you try to suck up water with it, does that work?Yes. The needle is 1/4” from the bottom of the bac container
I tried that. It works but about the same. Slowly. If you try to suck up water with it, does that work?
Yea that's what I was going to say. Could be a crappy batch.I tried that. It works but about the same. Slowly.

Well, they’re cheap. Getting another box is cheap anyway. I’ll try that before I need to reconstitute another vialYea that's what I was going to say. Could be a crappy batch.

Those won’t work well to filter. I have a big box of 5ml syringes and these needlesI think 99% of us just use the 5/16" 30-31 gauge insulin needles to reconstitute as well as inject.
What do you need to filter? I'm new to this. Those won’t work well to filter. I have a big box of 5ml syringes and these needles
Use slip tip syringes.I got some 27ga slip/luer lock but they’re a real drag to pull BAC through. They’re larger than the 31ga insulin needles so all I can think is that they’re too long maybe?

It sounds like the pressure is what’s making it come out slowly. You need to push air into the bottle. I put the syringe in, take the plunger out and let it sit while I do something else. After a bit I put the plunger back in and push air in. Usually is enough to equalize it
