Are 27ga needles too small for reconstituting?

In my newbie days I only used 31G insulin needles to recon, never had a problem at all with the Hospira BAC or the reconned tirz.
Maybe try a different brand needle.
I suspect it’s the length but I’m not sure. It draws the BAC in one drop at a time (I inject air before drawing)
Is your needle fully locked in place? Is your BAC at room temperature? Is the needle fully in, past the stopper?
Yes. The needle is 1/4” from the bottom of the bac container
I store my bac in a drawer with my injection supplies at room temp
If you try to suck up water with it, does that work?
I tried that. It works but about the same. Slowly.If you try to suck up water with it, does that work?
Maybe these are just crappy needles.

Well, they’re cheap. Getting another box is cheap anyway. I’ll try that before I need to reconstitute another vial

I think 99% of us just use the 5/16" 30-31 gauge insulin needles to reconstitute as well as inject.

Those won’t work well to filter. I have a big box of 5ml syringes and these needles

What do you need to filter? I'm new to this.
Use slip tip syringes.
Draw with a 22/23g. Swap to a 27+ to penetrate your vial. You can use that size for both, but i prefer smaller sizes on the vial to make sure the seal stays intact.
Often a pain in the ass with steroids, the vial starts talking a bit when you oenetrate it too many times with large needles

It sounds like the pressure is what’s making it come out slowly. You need to push air into the bottle. I put the syringe in, take the plunger out and let it sit while I do something else. After a bit I put the plunger back in and push air in. Usually is enough to equalize it

27G is good, I don't use smaller than that to draw/push liquids larger than 1ml, cuz otherwise it takes ages, especially with a syringe filter.
It's more rough for the rubber stopper of your vials tho. So I reconstitute, transfer to a larger vial and add the missing BAC with a 27G needle. I then aliquots into single dose vials with 30G needles

I know you said you push air in, but if you push enough, the plunger will push itself back out. I pull oil with a 29g and sometimes 30, and even it doesn’t drip back out so long as the pressure’s right. I’ve done it with a 5/16-1”, length doesn’t matter
